What a crock of pure, unadulterated BULLS**T!

Thanks for pointing out the myth of S. Larson from Citibank. I just have been think about who on earth she is. I have a Citibank Driver Edge card, she was always the one writing me. Then My wife just got a Citi f/i card, S. Larson is the same customer rep too.
I was so impressive by the productivity of effeciency of S. Larson who can cover so many million of customers at the same time that I almost went out to buy citibank shares.

Has anyone tried to open or deposit $$$ into their citi/fi acct using a CLICK-CITI card did it go thru as a purchase or cash-advance? I would assume since its a Citi sub that itll go as a cash-adv however DC is owned by Citi and Citi/fi wont accept their cards so maybe Click will work as a purchase.Anyone tried??

I was told that you can only OPEN an account with a credit card. When I opened my account in November they didn't allow that. Seems like they are all going in this direction. I still have not received my miles.

Didnt see any way to make a deposit to my present money-mkt acct so I clicked open a IMMA acct, it took it but the banks were closed yesterday and I'll see what happens tommorrow.I dont have a savings but it pays less than half the %. If they reject it I'll open a joint acct and get a Palm along with it,its that its a tremendous hassle getting those new accts properly credited that I tried it this way.If it works when it comes time to pay i'll move the $ from the IMMA to my checking then have AMEX do a direct withdrawl.

My wife and I each signed up for a citi f/i account in the last week of December. She got an email asking her for her AA number again. I didn't. Two weeks ago, her AA account showed 5,000 miles. I'm still waiting. Called citi c/i, and they haven't a clue, but said they'd "research it and get back to me this week." Report will follow.

I just got the offer for the PALM IIIe when I open an account with Citif/i. The offer code is CV as stated earlier.
Has anyone used the PALM IIIe ? Would you recommend it? How much do these sell for?

It only has 2MB of memory, and unlike the other members of the Palm III family, its Operating System is not upgradeable.
<$150
I would not recommend it.

Here's the latest on my odyssey to actually get the 5,000 miles credited:
Opened accounts for me+wife in December. Got email to her in March asking for her FF number again. Nothing for me. May 5, received her miles. May 10, called citi f/i asking where my miles were: they said they'd research it and call me back the following week.
This week, I called them. They claim they tried to call me, but couldn't (funny, my office is open 8-5 M-F every day, and I have a secretary and voice mail.) Anyway, they parroted back to me that "their system said I had registered for promotion B10 which expired on 11/30, so I get no miles."
I informed them then that both my wife and myself had registered one day apart, using the same materials, and that our promotion had expired 12/31, and she had gotten the miles, while I had not. The droid on the phone says they're going to research it again (they sure *are*) and if the promotion comes back as B10, well, I'm outta luck.
Funny: *I* didn't tell them B10. How come I'm "outta luck"? If they miskeyed this, that's their problem.
Just another case where, once again, I'm going to have to go over the heads of the drones and talk to the supervisor. Should have known this was another "come on" where they'd begrudge you the miles.
[What they don't know yet is that as I am a citigroup shareholder, It'll be difficult explaining when they find out that corporate was more than a little interested in this story, and they ARE interested.......]
Stand by: next report supposedly on "Wednesday", when they say they will call me back.

The saga of no miles continues. Spoke for the second time today with the rep who promised to call me back: no dice. They say I applied for the wrong bonus, so nothing doing. Great Customer Service!
While on hold waiting for the supervisor (this won't stop here), my good karma paid off: at the bottom of the file in which I had put all their statements these many months, THERE was the original promo stuff from the web. CLEARLY, 5,000 miles. The supervisor tries to get me to take a promo which would require active use of the account. No dice. I tell him I have the original stuff. He relents. Fax it to him.
He agrees. "Based on what you've given me, we've made a mistake."
Unfortunately, even supervisors have no power to give you the miles. He says he will present my case to "those who do." Another update forthcoming.
[My first thought is "What we won't do for miles!". My second and third thoughts are less printable, and directed at Citi, the company I've "owned" for 15 years now, and culminate with the "just who IS in charge?"]

I'd expected to post you all a "great news!" message by now, but citi f/i hasn't called me back as promised (quelle suprise!).
End of the workday, two days after my last post, and I'm headed home for the weekend a little disgusted. [Note to citi-types who might be lurking out there: can you see how failure to deliver on these come-ons negates the whole effort????? How do you think THIS shareholder feels about the company's new venture?]

Craz,
The Citif/i rep I talked with on the phone told me that if you use a Citibank card to fund the account, Citibank (a different bank, technically) will count the charge as a purchase.

Two weeks of solid flying; haven't been able to rant at citi f/i again about the missing 5K. Depsite the rep's assurances, he didn't call me back with their "decision". HOWEVER, my wife's $502 savings account seems to have scored her an additional 500 AA miles for some reason. So she's gotten 5,500 miles, I've gotten 0. I called the rep who promised me the miles; he's not in until "Saturday". Again, we shall see.
Update will follow.
