The Citi/fi thing is a major joke. I've been able to gnerlly resolve missing mileage/poor customer service issues by speaking to the right people in the right way previously, but these folks are the most clueless inept folks i've ever encountered. I opened my acct in November and have a novel now on their various supervisors (the head supervisor's name is Shiela Robinson who is in meetings all day every day apparantly).
I am now taking it up with Citibank corporate because this has been nothing short of fraud if you ask me (they are now telling me I didn't qualify for the miles but can't tell me why, I had the right amount in the account for 120 days). Be warned!

The person I spoke to was very nice, and called me back each time to inform me what he found out. He said $50 had been deposited into my account at the beginning of the year. I told him that was not the promotion that I signed up for. Supposedly now, I will get the miles, but I don't know if they will withdraw the $50.00
Also, NOW you can make an initial deposit by charging to a credit card. They just started doing that. There's a lot of miles that could have been earned!!!

I opened an account with them November last year and had the initial deposit check sent to them together with the account application. It took them days to open the account but a whole month to deposit the money into my account as they "lost" my check. And I don't understand why I can't choose my own pin for my ATM card.

For those of you who don't feel like fighting for AA miles:
Offer Code N2T: $50 + Microsoft Money 2000.
Offer Code N2U: $13,200 AOL Rewards points over six months. (2200 upon enrollment and 2200 per month for five month if you make one online bill payment per month.)

Well, from the tone of the complaints, sounds like typical Citibank mentality. I have come to take the excuses over the years as a cost of doing business with Citibank, since I have had the Aadvantage Visa since about day one it was introduced.
I recently opened a Citi/FI savings account as a response to an offer of $50 just to open the account (with the $100 minimum). Well, I should have known that it was too good to be true because I received a letter that said the minimum for that offer was $500. When I went back and looked at the offer, even the small print on the web page, there was no mention of anything other than the $100 minimum to open the account. So, is it worth the $50 for me to make a fuss? Don't think so.
I have always been amused at the card unit people. Like, all of the correspondence from them is signed "S. Larson" who doesn't exist. I know this because one especially frustrating day I asked to speak with Ms. Larson and was told that she doesn't exist; it is just a standard line that they use. What a crock of pure, unadulterated BULLS**T! And, God forbid you should need to dispute a charge!!! I can't tell you how many times I have come this close to closing the account, only to realize that the miles sure do add up in a hurry. Well, I guess you can't have your cake and eat it, too?

My 5000 bonus miles finally posted yesterday after calls to Citi/Fi and AAdvantage last week. This was for an account opened December 21.

I signed up in January for a $100 bonus. They credited the bonus within a month. That was the end of the good news. I transferred all of my checking activities to Citi f/i and within two months was so frustrated with slow cash availablility, slow servers, and slow responses to my problems, I got out. I'd gladly give back the hundred bucks in exchange for removal of the experience from my memory.

I am about to sign up for the 13,200 AOL pts promo, but I wonder...if I will be able to convert those to AA miles when the new
http://www.aolaadvantage.com/
site is launched this summer. Now this would be a great deal if it is in fact a 1-1 conversion from pts to miles.
