Just received my Amex SPG through the 20K offer and noticed yesterday its now at 10K.
I can't find the old offer and don't remember what I need to spend to get the welcome starpoints. Is it first purchase or $500.00?

$500 is my recollection.
Here's the wording, as of January 2014:
Your friend could earn our highest Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card points offer of 21,000 Bonus Starpoints when they charge $500 in purchases to their Card in the first 3 months of Cardmembership

Nice. I hope AMEX has a promo too - although I'm not optimistic.

Awesome! Have 15k laying around from the recent RBC Infinite Avion fee waiver promo... this will bring my brother and I to Burning Man this summer (with a remainder)!

Do you mean you only need 11250 avios each to go to the Burning Man or that you were short 3750 miles x 2?

I am having this same feeling. The RBC bonuses have been like clockwork. You can certainly count on those. The Amex bonuses were almost too good to be true...
