signup points for ups posted on Dec tenth, the day I went to get it fixed
triple points posted on the fifteenth, including the 500 some of the easiest 1650 ever! I think signing up for kids shouldn't be a problem...at no point did they ask for ID, or even the original Aeroplan card, I just gave them the number |

Thanks jerry305 for posting on the AC Forums about this UPS promo. So I just signed up the Get More! Small Business Card for my wife and myself and will follow your above steps to go to a UPS store tomorrow.
I told the guy at the store exactly why I am here and he told me he actually just got an email about this from UPS this morning. When he entered the info in his system, it indicate his screen show I will be getting 1650 bonus per account. I know I spend a little too much for the $1 spend that I need and even so close to the $2 mark, but I figure I actually need to get some envelop anyway.. so, it is not completely a waste. Thanks again to all the people getting this info on FlyerTalk. :D |

so, just walk out from the UPS store and purchase 2 packages of 20-long-envelopes each at $1.89 (didn't want to buy 4 pens for $0.25 each)

Wow I got the 1, 150, & 500 miles posted already, less than 12 hours. Jerry305 said within a day, but didn't realized it is that quick.

For the East people - they have the same deal, but give 80 Air Miles. Ron. Lots of Aeroplan Miles and smell great! (Rexall Canada) |
At the 2nd store, yesterday, the guy at the counter didn't know how to enter it so I had to wait 5-10 minutes for the manager to deal with a shipping issue - then the manager told me this doesn't apply to retail purchases and told me to go to another store if I didn't like it. Nice attitude. (Bank St near Nepean) At this point there was only one more store in the area I was driving through...so I went there and it went through without any hassle. I bought a roll of packing tape for $4 since I wanted to at least get something I'd eventually use. (Rideau St near Nelson) Major PITA but at least it finally worked. The initial miles showed in my account last night. |
My first attempt was similar to tryinginvain's. I encountered a surprisingly clued out/surly collection of employees and disorganized stores... if I have time I would go back to try again, but these experiences would generally make me steer clear of UPS Stores.

Thanks all for the UPS AE find! Went to my local UPS store in YXU and bought 1 envelope at 1.29 (did need it actually). Had my UPS card to give to the gal. She was confused at first, thinking u was asking for a discount, but I had to explain to her I just wanted the transaction counted towards a purchase for UPS and AE points.
Took a moment of discussion, but she realized my plan, and went through with the transaction. Next day, got 1 AE point for the purchase, 150 points for a 'first time UPS purchase', and 500 points for the 'get more miles bonus'. We'll see what happens next week if the rest of them come. |

I was surprised it was still live when I checked. I guess not too many people online for Christmas. |
Actually a lot of people have liked the page beforehand. Not really sure if past likers are eligible?

hi
If I get the Capital One IHG credit card 15,000 bonus sign up (0$ per year) then I want to upgrade to the Platinum one at 30,000 and $120/year Wil I get the sign up bonus if I upgrade 6 months later? |
anyone has the link for
Choice Privileges MasterCard: 24,000 Choice points + a room night ? I only see 8000 Choice points |
Has anyone applied for the Alaska Airlines card? Curious how long the welcome bonus takes to post - they do say "upon approval" but then they say 8-10 weeks for the miles to post. Need a redemption soon'ish, wonder if I should risk signing up, or burn SPG instead (which isn't the fastest to post, either).

Wife and I each applied for the MBNA Alaska Air MC at end of summer 2013. If I recall correctly, the points post to your Alaska account AFTER your first MBNA statement generates (i.e., similar to the AMEX AeroPlus, CIBC AeroInfinite, Chase Marriott VISA, MBNA Best Western MC and MBNA Choice Privs MCs cards). Only the AMEX Rewards are fast to post, without requiring a statement to generate first. Now, having said that, the points did not appear in my wife's account for nearly 3 months, due to MBNA assigning the points to a WRONG Alaska Air account, even though we know we input her correct account number based on our screen dumps. After we contacted MBNA, they sorted it out very quickly, in about 10 days, and we saw the points in her Alaska account...which means they COULD post them without waiting for another statement to generate, go figure! *edit* - based on crimsona's post above, appears the points post within a week? So anyway...unless you run into this snag, you should get the points within 2-4 weeks, likely depending on when the MBNA bill generates. |

Whoops...ok, so ignore my post above. I thought points post, based on the bill statement.
Ok, I will apply rather than transferring SPG :D (ahh, how little regard we have for our credit histories these days). Thanks! |

My wife and I each applied for the card a few months ago, and I think that the points were there immediately after approval. Didn't even have to use the card before the points appeared. Apply through Great Canadian Rebates to bring down the cost.

Also declare lower income to get the plat, I got the free upgrade invite to World Elite for 10k miles a month after application and restating income after getting the card (although I dropped like 2.5k on the card in the first month if that triggered anything)
$15 first year net fee, used the companion ticket YVR to LAX, 35k AS miles... pretty happy with it! |

Yikes! You forgot to use GCR for all/most MBNA cards? I haven't booked any MBNA cards without going through GCR, except for one time, the Best Western was offered for a higher promo 60K outside of GCR. This includes SmartCash, Best Western, Choice Privs and Alaska Air...all MCs, of course.

CIBC Aventura Flight Redemption Offers: The offers based on the banner from the CIBC Rewards website states that you can fly on Porter between Toronto and New York for only 8,500 points as well as Chicago, Mont Tremblant and Burlington, VT for 10,000 points. Now, I am not a CIBC Aventura cardholder so I cannot tell you whether that is one way or round trip although I'm guessing round trip based on the Aventura award chart nor do I know the dates of the offer https://rewards.cibcrewards.com/Home.aspx Here is an update posted by a Rewards Canada reader over on my blog: Terms are you have to travel with Porter Airlines by March 31, 2014. The travel date has to be at least 21 days from the date of booking and you have to book through the call center. You are unable to book it online. The 8500 and 10000 points are for round trips. |
It picks me when I see promos like this for people who live out east, but there isn't an equivalent or similar promo for cardholders living out west. It makes me feel good that I cancelled my Aventura card after I got my welcome bonus....

And Aeroplan? Check out the 15K short-haul destinations from YYZ: pretty much half the US eastern seaboard. Meanwhile, from YWG: Toronto... and Saskatoon. |

It is annoying. Aventura has done this with Porter before... nice for the people in S. Ontario, but what about everyone else?
