Is their online application ever going to work? I have been getting this message for the past 8 months, "Please correct the errors noted below

Unfortunately, we have encountered system issues and cannot process your application at this time. Please try again in a few hours or visit any TD Canada Trust branch. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Find the nearest Canada Trust Branch Branch Locator Link"

Of course the branch has no idea that this promotion exists.

Odd, my branch in Vancouver was fully aware of the promotion and checked if I was signed up for it when I picked up the card...

They had the same promotion in the branch with FYF and 25,000 miles after $1000 spend? Can you tell me which branch it was and who you dealt with?

This was at the North Road branch in Burnaby/Coquitlam. Don't remember the teller's name, sadly, but I specifically asked her to check my promo code when I picked up the card and she verified the presence for me, so clearly they're aware of it.

Why not just show them the link of the offer that is on their website? Save the link on your smartphone. Doesn't mention anywhere that the offer is only for those who sign up online. Then they can call their manager or whatever to confirm.

Why go in branch at all?

RFD offers $70 cashback for this card!!!

Because some people can't get past the initial online application phase, and need to go in branch to kick the financial specialist into seeing the FYF and 25K promo?

Or they get past the online application phase fine, and then application goes into a black hole...either never received, or received and declined (for whatever their bogus reason of the day is) with no response...

On a side note, if bonuses are lifetime now, what's the next best way to accumulate points for a Singapore air F award ticket?

I got the referral bonus instantly (or maybe within 3 days) after I referred myself. Just hit the spending requirement within 1 week after received the card and waiting for the bonus point posted.

Then those people should call TD CC to finish the application and provide the correct source code (RFD or GCR)

You should see it soon if you applied ONLINE via GCR and got approved
If not, submit a missing rebate with GCR (name, address) and they'll follow up

That's what I had to do - Call TD to complete application, submit inquiry with GCR and call TD to fix my Aeroplan #, get my $50 GCR cashback.... took 3 months

looks like my post was deleted sorry for crossing any lines regarding trading/buying miles.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a place where i can discuss the above?

I have until Nov to accumulate 56k marriott pts and normal spend will not get me there.

Thanks

The only place on FT would be Coupon Connection, which requires you to have amassed 180 substantive posts to gain access.

And have been a member for 180 days. Which s/he has, but for the sake of clarity for other new members.

I must be lucky - I applied for the TD Aeroplan infinite card on Sunday, was approved instantly, and yesterday received an email from GCR that the cash back went through. The application was buggy though, some of the popups that you have to open and accept took a few tries to work.

I always apply by phone. I find it saferr. Currently have 2 TD cards. Has any ever tried and been successful for 3?

So it's back to a 'functional' buggy state that it was at, earlier this year. Time to try again.

Good enough for me!

I gave it a go and did not have any obvious problems with the legendary, beloved TD application process. Got the AE number in there and everything. However, my application is "under review" with a response I promised in the next couple of days. (I think I got this same answer during my previous attempts which ultimately proved successful)

Just one question though, when prompted for your TD customer info, is it better to include your TD Easyweb login info, or apply as a "new customer" even if you already have a TD AVI?

Not sure what's unsafe about applying online but you're leaving money on the table (currently $60) by not even trying to go through GCR.

Are you saying you currently have 2 TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite cards, or just 2 different cards in the TD family?

Sigh... reee-jected for TD AVI #3 to go along with my current pair + cashback MC.

Oh well, it was worth a shot.

With the TD Aeroplan card, how strict are they about income? My partner is a student. TD gave him the TD First Class card, when he opened an account with them, despite low income. Would that mean that he'd qualify for the TD Aeroplan, or did he just get lucky?

Probably lucky

and I wouldn't try any VISA INFINITE or MC World Elite if your income is nowhere near 60K. 50-55K, maybe okay, buff it up a bit with "additional unknown income" :)

Why do you say this Jerry? I was approved for the TD Visa Infinite despite fitting the criteria you mentioned... would they retroactively ask for proof of income?

Transfer your SPG points to Singapore. And I disagree with the previous poster: SQ F is one of the truly great flight experiences you will ever have, and well worth the points! I've flown it several times. Get the A-380, from Singapore to NA. Give yourself ample time to fully enjoy The Private Room at Changi. Try to book a middle seat and hope that no one is next to you so you can sleep on the only double bed in the sky. Pre-order your Lobster Thermidor, and enjoy one of the most cool, fun experiences of your life! My 2 cents...

SQ is not the only airline with a double bed in the sky.
Etihad has a double bed. You'll have to fly The Residence on their A380.

True.

I've flown The Apartments on Etihad's A380 and it's great! The Residence isn't yet bookable for a "reasonable" number of points...

Annual Fee will be reversed within 2 monthly statements from the date of the charge.

You get charged and refunded the annual fee, that's just kind of how the card works, yeah. If you don't get a refund within the first 2,3 statements, then contact TD.

claurianta2 Jul 26, 2015 10:30 am

So I just got off the phone with Capital One about my Delta Skymiles card. They said existing cardmembers get to keep it and continue earning.

They also said something else I didn't know: They are cancelling the IHG card as well (but letting existing cardmembers keep it), and focusing on Costco.

Got my card December. Did not realize the annual fee was not credited till July. Called TD and they won't refund me the annual fee. They said its "TOO LATE":mad::mad:

A Flyertalk member, crimsona, has put together a transfer bonus history.

Awesome thanks. It seems there has been a 50% bonus before. Maybe I will wait and hope for that since I don't plan on travelling on points for a while
