Anyone Know If Lufthansa Allows Status Match or Status Challenge?
 

Hi, newbie to the forum - have searched previous posts and come up empty.

Can anyone tell me if Lufthansa offers or allows status match or status challenge? I'm an American expat living in Cologne, Germany and I have Diamond Medallion status with Delta. I've been at this level for 3 years due mostly to tons of frequent business travel but living in Germany it only makes sense to fly Lufthansa, and/or their lower-cost affiliate GermanWings.

I'd really like to leverage my Delta frequent flyer status to get Gold or Senator status on Lufthansa, thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

As far as i know, they do not offer matches or challenges. But you do have a few options.

1. Get the BIS miles.

2. Get a Founderscard, which gives you a silver LHMM status when you complete a return transatalantic flight.

3. Get a match from NZ or TK, so you can enjoy the *G perks while you building up ur LH status.

4. Get a challenge with UA, and enjoy ur *G perks while building up ur LH status.

5. If you fly premium cabins with LH, go get a A3 card, which earns 200%/300% on business/first class fares on international. You get 2000 status mile if you enroll now, and you will only need 18000 for *G, then build ur LH status with the perks.

My brother submitted a request to UA for a match of his Delta Silver Medallion status this week. I'll report back if he's successful.

Status matched AF/KL FB gold -> Turkish Gold.
Worked great.

Need Instant "Status" on an Airline
 

Hi, I want to do a status match on United, but I'm only a Silver elsewhere. Are there any airlines currently offering instant Gold or Platinum status?

You can get instant Gold status on US Airways for $2499. Platinum would run you $2999.

IIRC, United won't match US Air G/P since they are in the same alliance.

AR is now offering status match to LA JJ G3 AV IB and AA elites...

Not sure if that's any use, but looks like first Skyteam match without challenge or flight requirements..

There was one on AF/KL at the beginning of this year.
