Gary: When you say "everyone," does that include existing Mileage Plus credit cardholders? I doubt I'd make the $25k spend but I'd consider taking it for the free 50,000.

Big Campaign for this card
All of us will have this card available. I have been hinting about it for about 10days now.
From a marketing standpoint, Chase appears to be going all out on this offer. I still have not seen the full T and C yet. They seem to tweak these things up until the last moment.
One of my readers contacted Chase online and confirmed that if you have not had an Explorer card, but have had a United MP card, you are still eligible for the offer.

Great news...but i sure hope reconsideration department will approve me. My Chase application started in May with British Airways, Continental, then Sapphire Preferred and lastly Southwest in August. 2011.

Also, I just got a Chase Sapphire card. Would that disqualify me from getting this UA Chase card? Or, just a bad, even if I got the card would I be disqualified from getting the 50,000 miles?

Over the last few months (starting back in April) I got United, Continental, Hyatt and Southwest. Tried to apply for Sapphire and denied due to too many new products. Understandable so I will wait...
My husband only had a Continental and then got a Chase Sapphire 2 months ago. He tried to apply for the Southwest card and Chase sent a letter saying no because he had just received a new account (meaning the Sapphire card). He sent a secure message asking if he could close the Continental card (since he could transfer to Onepass from his Sapphire) and get the Southwest card. They cancelled his Continental and approved the Southest card. He only got the Continental in April.
I have read other places that Chase seems to be cutting back on how often you can get a new product with them...

Cool. United raising the bar. Glad I got the Continental 50K one although not sure if I would get this due to prior Chase cards...

I got targeted to a 40K offer, but it includes to RCC passes per year. First year free, $95 after that. T's and C's here http://www.firstusa.com/cgi-bin/webc...erms&card=DJLJ
One very useful thing for me is no mileage expiration. I might get it just for that. But if I can get the one that starts with 50K at first use, I would go for it.

Let me get this...
Continental card - April
Chase Sapphire - July
Southwest ???
What was the time gap between the Southwest and Chase Sapphire?

I think it would depend upon how long you had the Sapphire. I got Sapphire in June, and I am wondering myself if Oct is long enough (past 90 days but within 6 months).

I have never been successful if applying less than 30 days from previous application and always been approved if it is more thank 30 days and using the reconsideration phone line

5 Chases and 3 Amexs since 1/2011, very marginal credit btw-
Hyatt
Continental
British
Priority Club
Southwest
Amex Gold
Amex Delta
Amex Hilton Surpass
Tried for Sapphire in August, no go even thru reconsideration line.
Will give it a try, not much hope though, would come in handy to get my Continentals back over 100k....

Chase is handing out new cards like candy on Halloween. If you are willing to close a card or relocate some CL it is almost a sure thing. DW had a card for just over a week, agreed to close it to get approved for another card.
