Talking

I just got two tickets for a meeting at the Prado in October 21/26

1) RDU/JFK/MAD -- MAD/ATL/RDU $274 a/i
2) PHL/CDG/MAD -- MAD/ATL/PHL $230 a/i

could have been $60 bucks cheaper from CTL instead of RDU but not worth the drive.

Thanks to the OP !

This time I was lucky enough to come in right at the beginning (checked FT just as I was leaving work), but even so, figuring out what I could and couldn't get took a long time -- basically my entire evening -- and because I fudged around a lot early on, I only managed one sub-$300 fare.

If it was a mistake, why did it last for about 16 hours?

On the other hand, why were they selling summer seats for like 80 bucks and tax? Surely there would be a better profit maximizing strategy (like advertise a $199 sale?).

Whenever you use an ECV, it usually takes a while longer (an extra day or more!) for ticket numbers to be issued.

I booked on NWA.com using an ECV, and I also don't have a ticket # just yet. Just give it a little time.

I believe so... a few pages back some posters mentioned fuel surcharge was missing. My itinerary is exactly $240 more now, so I'm thinking $120 srcharge each way was missing (in the case of LAX-MAD).

Yes, some of the taxes and fees were only slightly above $50. I've never paid that little for flights to Europe. So they had a sale, but they didn't mean to make it quite this cheap.

i was thinking the same thing about it being up for so long...but the lowest price i saw ~$200 to Europe is pretty ridiculous even if the economy is in the tank and they are trying to fill seats. + the ridiculous amount of bonus miles one could rack up

I hate this feeling. It's all 20/20 vision now. My brain kept telling me to buy but my heart kept praying for *A to match!!!
Another reason, I was also not sure about NWA "Customer First" policy. The fare T&C said that the fare was absolutely NR.

Logic would have said this is absolutely a mistake. I saw a fare for 2 adults and one lap child for $644 a/i with $110 in ALL taxes (incl child).
Let's hope we will see $250 RT US-midwest to Spain over labor day weekend AGAIN.

In my heart of hearts, I just did not want to fly outside *A. Thats what miles and status do to you..you see a superb deal but are still hesitant

I hear ya...I waited out for *A and last minute decided to do it and at least have the option to cancel. At least my best friend is a DL FA and is gonna try to fly with me (assuming the flights are open enough)...
