Do not call the airlines under any conditions! This is the fastest way to kill the trick and bring unwanted attention to your itinerary! And do not post precious deals in this thread, this is by far the fastest way to kill the trick!

************************************************** ******
This is NOT the right place to ask: "Can you help me with a low fare for AAA-BBB?" This is not the beg-it thread, but the trick-it thread.

This thread deals with unique combinations of routes and booking tricks in order to lower prices on airline fares. Prices that would astound the general public are often achieved by the posters in this thread.

Many people, including airline representatives, monitor this thread. For that reason, it is unorganized, very content heavy, often lacking details, and written in shorthand. It takes patience and effort in order to understand the conversation and be able to participate as an active member.

We encourage you to read the entirety of this thread if you would like to get started and to experiment as soon as you understand the gist of Trick It. Lots of time spent reading, practicing, and learning is the only way to be able to reproduce our tricks and discover new ones yourself. There are many, many people who ask for advice here, so productive members are only able to help those who have shown a concerted effort and progress over a long period of time (months).

If you have no idea what this thread is about, a good place to start are various blogs' posts on the subject. At the very least, read the Rules for posting in this thread. They're also listed in the very first post, below.

Older portions of the thread have been separated into archive thread by year. They are listed below

Hello there, been out of this game for a while. Is EF still the best place to find BFs? Thanks!

I asked a few days ago whether checking luggage was sufficient interaction with an airline to draw their attention to your unusual ticket price but never got any response so trying again. Can anyone tell of their experiences flying their "X" flight and main flights and checked in luggage?

My other doubt before pulling the trigger is I wish to purchase two 1X flights which together make a round trip. They would be purchased seperately to each provide a 1X for two different main trips. Will this give a higher chance of problems arising?

It's my first find and I'm nervous, so looking for some (hopefully positive) advice to calm my nerves.

I'm a carryon only ALWAYS (except when I had to carry tools as part of my job), but consensus has been do NOT check bags. With FD, just one more chance for someone to see the ticket

It was years ago when flying to meetings was part of the job (those were some perks to attend meetings @:-) ) when a concierge told me "a savvy traveler does not check bags."

Not sure if truer words have been spoken @:-) ^

Over 20 years ago, and except the great job that required carrying screwdrivers and such, I have not checked one single bag since

I really doubt that check in agents can see the price of your ticket..

Price is obviously not the only issue in that scenario.

General consensus remains, HBO is best on dumped itins.

fly_error strange rules for me too, but you can get a 100% dump with 1x
Fly from couscous to laksa in biz for 411 EUR rt ai (ITAble) with a quite far away 1x, and around 500 or 600 EUR with a more easy to fly 1x

edited : not from Egypt

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to recode something from your posts. I've been searching for sth for about a week, but I found only some useless not so high dumps (the biggest was about 150$ somewhere over the Pacific Ocean).

There's pretty low BF on flights from cheese/banks city to the best airport in the world. I read all the rules, it seems to be dumpable. But I tried to use 1x, 2x, 3x in every part of the world... and it doesn't work.

The low BF I mentioned above is for nonstop flights, but there are also two other dumpable carriers on that route (with a little higher BF and 1 layover).

What am I doing wrong that it doesn't work? I really tried hundreds of combinations.

I'd be really greatful for a hint. Cheers!

PS: maybe on priv, if you don't want to write here.

I’ve been working on C2-C3se for a while now. Best price so far is 350 return still including 250+ fat, but probably not negotiable (?). Can anyone point me in the right direction with airlines and connections, that are worth looking into?
