Just moved my flights again. The new policy given Russian airspace closure is if your flight is cancelled by Finnair you can rebook within 360 days from the date of the change.
Went onto chat and moved to 24/02/23 - 05/03/23
had to get 'back off approval' as I'm on a 'special type of fare' I said, huh... whats so special? its I class and this is an INVOL rebook. :P

So the fare difference is waived only if flights are changed +/- 7 days from original flight dates. Anything more than that we cannot waive the fare difference. As this is 1 year ahead, we have to apply that, I'm afraid

Changed my ticket to SIN around a month ago, just about to quit the pool in Singapore for tonight’s flight home - they also let me change to fly SIN/HEL/EDI and avoid the MXP detour on the return. Happy days!

Just messaged on chat, and after a 130 minute wait, they told me I can only change my flight +- 2 days!?!? The best they could offer me was 14 days in HKG? I would have to catch a taxi to airport literally the minute I come out of quarantine?
No route change, no date change, neither are allowed, even though my flight has been butchered and the "new" one offered is more than 24 hour away from old itin?
Anyone who managed to change anything (date/routing) in recent days/weeks, please let me know who/how you reached AY and it would be greatly appreciated.
And no, no refunds, last time I asked for a refund it still has not arrived in my account, and it only has been 422 days.

I always used Finland location and English language selected. Cannot remember names. Always have ready all the details with dates and flight numbers ready, so just copy and paste to chat, when needed.

whenever I try to directly give a different route and paste it in the chat, I encounter very hard pushback, as it seemed like agent encountered too much workload and did not want to check proper policy, maybe that is a way to overwhelm them and directly get them to change your flight? interesting strategy

Okay, did a bit more chatting. No luck on changing destination. A few agents are truly clueless, and I have got the following response as their final offer:
1. change +- 2 days because it is after June 1 policy kicks in (wrong, it is for fares booked after June 1)
2. contact expedia as we cannot touch this (wrong, they can do everything on this tix, the agent just want to do easy work like answering the definition of "bulkhead" for a 97 year old grandma)
3. the fare has expired and exceeded validity (wrong, fares always get extended in the pandemic)
4. the change requires fare diff (wrong, my original flights are cancelled and that entitles me to free change)
After a harrowing Monday, I have spent nearly 8 hours on all forms of contact, I even managed to get some Chinese customer service agents on wechat who were utterly useless. I eventually caved at a nice agent and just postponed this tix for the 5th time to later this year. She was already searching for a rerouting when she was stopped by the back office and had to deny my route change, but I am just so tired of playing agent roulette on 3 different languages over 5 time zones. This tix is turning 3 years old, when it can walk by itself I will truly shed a tear of joy/pain/depression.
1. change +- 2 days because it is after June 1 policy kicks in (wrong, it is for fares booked after June 1)
2. contact expedia as we cannot touch this (wrong, they can do everything on this tix, the agent just want to do easy work like answering the definition of "bulkhead" for a 97 year old grandma)
3. the fare has expired and exceeded validity (wrong, fares always get extended in the pandemic)
4. the change requires fare diff (wrong, my original flights are cancelled and that entitles me to free change)

I've changed both my tickets to SIN (from HKG) recently. took a LOT of calls to make it work. EU Morning seems best for me (calling from UK using the +44 number).
First ticket coming up this week and the 2nd i managed to push it to next year.
Some of them said the 4 hour change isnt warranted any changes, and I've been told I've accepted the changes (!) but anyways....
If want to go this summer feel free to tell them "you need to go to asia but the HKG schedule is still up in the air with changes n stuff"

I called 8am Eastern (+1 800 numbers) to make my changes back in May.
Webchat EU overnight was utter useless, wanted to reprice the entire ticket using today's fare even for an invol.
CN call center was also useless, will only rebook for like-to-like routings.
HKG being cancelled for Jun and Jul is key.
"Just say get me to Asia (SIN), i can find my own way into HKG"
For the record, HKG is now ONLY 7 days hotel jail at your expense
