My original plan was to fly elsewhere the same day of arrival, on 23/04, and come back in HKG on 27/04, the day before flying back to HEL, but if this plan changes, and I'm in HKG at the same time, why not!

Hi All... sorry, can someone please tell me, is it possible to short-check baggage at HEL when I am
supposed to have a connection onto STR?
There’s a 22 hour layover on the itinerary.
I need to be be at ARN the next day! Connections from STR look to be expensive and a pain. Unless I was to catch a flight to TXL from STR and onto ARN from there...
Plus, is it good practice to call the airline on the day and advise I won’t make it for the flight? (Unexpectedly delayed or some such...)
Much more convenient if I can skip HEL to STR on the way back!

I did check-in at MUC but the agent told me to pick up and recheck again at HEL. So I was really disappointed since I would like to check thru my luggage to KEF!
I read it on the website and chatted with AY Live Chat and they also told me that my luggage should be checked thru KEF and asked me to file the complaint. I did and got 5000 points :-)
