Anyone else getting pushback from Finnair chat agents? I was told today that a refund is the only option and that must be arranged via Expedia. The chat agent checked with a supervisor who confirmed - refund only:
"Only refund is allowed and only via the 3rd party provider. Re-routing is not allowed in our policy as we do not know whether we will fly to Asia at all and when"
I was due to fly 24 June BLQ-HEL-HKG then Nanjing-HEL-BLQ, I suggested Milan instead of Bologna but the agent wasn't having it - trying to reschedule for mid October 2020

I just got off the phone with AY and they re-booked my cancelled MXP-HEL-CAN- HEL-MXP legs from a Nov 2020 outbound to one at the end of March 2021. Just looked at the itinerary they sent and now the outbound flights are in R class which I think is some sort of discounted J that won't accrue with QF... Back to the phone I guess.

Yet another schedule change which makes both flights a night flight to HKG. No fun anymore.
I tried to get a refund and had to really push on it, since the new policy doesn't allow for a free cancellation under strict ticket conditions. I told her the policy at the moment of the first cancellation was different. She had to consult hq and get back to me by e-mail. Which she did a few hours later saying I could cancel, but had to go through the 3rd party website.
Which is Flugladen.de so now the real fun begins
First e-mail was a straight no under ticket conditions. I said in the first email that Finnair had agreed to a full refund. Send the e-mail from Finnair to Flugladen....and now waiting 36+ for an answer from Flugladen.de. Which you are not able to call anymore, anytime. All done by e-mail. The joy 
O well...keeps u busy during these Corona times.

Have my STR-CAN-BLQ in Feb changed to a FRA-CAN//HKG-BLQ with outbound departure Jul 1. Just chatted with the agent online and he repeatedly told me only option is request for refund. No change allowed whatsoever. Thought they are desperate to keep my money! Funnily, my other one STR-CAN-STR that became FRA-HKG-FRA is allowed to be changed.
Will call tmr to change it as the agent seems very incompetent, took 30 min online to tell me he cannot do anything about that PNR, which I am pretty sure is wrong.

Just got off the phone. AY's Finland number has a wait of barely 3 min, and they are super competent.
The agent told me a new rule kicked into effect on 24th: no rerouting for any greater China routes whatsoever. Only option is refund or postpone until the exact route is operated.
This is so stupid because I did not change one of my CAN flights into HKG before this rule, and now it is practically dead. I have to postpone it to Mar 31st at earliest, 10 months from now, and I honestly do not even know if I will be a human by then if this quarantine continues. Since HKG/PKX/PVG is being operated daily until EOS, you can change to your heart's content if you happened to let the agents change you to those destinations before all these nonsense. The agent also warned that if this rule continues to be in effect, I may have to refund at the end anyway as they cancell CAN till EOS if the flights do not seem profitable.
And he also asked for special exceptions with supervisors, and I got the following options:
1. cancel for a full refund
2. reschedule for an outbound earliest on Mar 31st. since that is the day CAN is starting to be operated (in the schedule at least for now)
3. cancel the outbound FRA-HEL-CAN, keep and change HKG-HEL-BLQ, which can be rerouted as HKG-HEL-MXP, and once it is flown, apply for partial refund for the outbound
4. and the manager special: cancel just HEL-CAN, and apply for a refund on that leg only, and then they will let me postpone all my flights, and help me purchase an additional direct flight HEL-HKG/PVG to connect with FRA-HEL that I just rescheduled. Yeah right, I see what you did there. Not gonna pay $3126 for a one way direct J seat after getting back my 200, thanks.
5. cancel the outbound that is due to depart in a few hours, and I have 20 days to decide any of the options above, before my originally scheduled inbound.

LOL, they pulled the “You can buy another oneway ticket and we can fix it for you” thing on you again?!
Damnit, I need to rebook 3 AY tickets from this sale and not all of them were changed to HKG before... I just didn’t get around to changing them earlier. :-(

If you do postpone them to 2021, you only have 2 months to work with now, as you can only book APR MAY and a bit JUN.

Just got off the phone. AY's Finland number has a wait of barely 3 min, and they are super competent.
The agent told me a new rule kicked into effect on 24th: no rerouting for any greater China routes whatsoever. Only option is refund or postpone until the exact route is operated.
This is so stupid because I did not change one of my CAN flights into HKG before this rule, and now it is practically dead. I have to postpone it to Mar 31st at earliest, 10 months from now, and I honestly do not even know if I will be a human by then if this quarantine continues. Since HKG/PKX/PVG is being operated daily until EOS, you can change to your heart's content if you happened to let the agents change you to those destinations before all these nonsense. The agent also warned that if this rule continues to be in effect, I may have to refund at the end anyway as they cancell CAN till EOS if the flights do not seem profitable.
And he also asked for special exceptions with supervisors, and I got the following options:
1. cancel for a full refund
2. reschedule for an outbound earliest on Mar 31st. since that is the day CAN is starting to be operated (in the schedule at least for now)
3. cancel the outbound FRA-HEL-CAN, keep and change HKG-HEL-BLQ, which can be rerouted as HKG-HEL-MXP, and once it is flown, apply for partial refund for the outbound
4. and the manager special: cancel just HEL-CAN, and apply for a refund on that leg only, and then they will let me postpone all my flights, and help me purchase an additional direct flight HEL-HKG/PVG to connect with FRA-HEL that I just rescheduled. Yeah right, I see what you did there. Not gonna pay $3126 for a one way direct J seat after getting back my 200, thanks.
5. cancel the outbound that is due to depart in a few hours, and I have 20 days to decide any of the options above, before my originally scheduled inbound.
I chose 5, and probably will just go for full refund at the end. Meanwhile, my other reservation was changed in 2 minutes after I told him the new dates because it was all changed to HKG before this took effect. He even helped me avoid R class, and I got D and I. smh, hope they change the stupid rerouting rule in 20 days, as I am sure both AY and I would hate to see me asking for a refund nowadays.

Anybody else is able to get in contact with Flugladen.de?
They are simple ignoring me and Finnair can't cancel the tickets for me since Flugladen is the middle man.
Amex won't touch the transaction, since Flugladen is the middle man.

ok update to my strange ticket situation.
Made another call today, hold time minimal. Agent super competent, and after putting me on hold for 18 minutes, figured out how to change my STR-HEL-CAN//HKG-HEL-BLQ that was supposed to take place this month into FRA-HEL-PVG//HKG-HEL-FCO in Jan. It seems like they revoked the idiotic rules about Chinese destinations, and now I am free to enjoy the OWE lounge at HEL with AS's expedited entry into OW! (hope MVP75K maps to OWE haha)
