Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

There’s no relation at all. The sale you discovered as a 7D minimum stay while for this one you can easily tell how many people booked a shorter one.

That said, changing date usually involve a re-pricing...

As Z we are biz promo so shud I sign up to PAL miles award so I can use some of the miles for future PAL flights? Good luck to all inc me.

Welcome to the world of business class travel, the trouble is once you've sampled the product up front and turn left it can be very difficult to head down the back and turn right again.

The real question is where will you have most opportunity to spend the miles you accrue. If you use whereto credit

https://www.wheretocredit.com/philippine-airlines/z

you can see that Z class on PAL can credit to PAL, Etihad (EY) and All Nippon (NH). You will earn and equal number of miles on each program, so it really is down to how you can spend them (flights, hotels? Other partners, shopping mall), availability of redemptions, what it will cost you to spend them (flight taxes, transfer penalties), ability to top up, and expiry date issues.

Its a very personal choice - for example one person might be a frequent visitor to Japan and hence crediting to NH might make sense because they can use it for an internal flight in Japan whereas for the next they might want to find a way to transfer into a hotel program. You need to do some homework...

How many miles are we expected to get out of this deal?

14819miles x 125% should make it around 18.500 miles with all the programs.

I'd just add to this that PR offers 75% / 25% tier bonus (LHR / HKG) to their Premier Elite members. There can be found some track record of successful matches from *A top tier levels. Might be worth a try for someone.

Weird

Trip.com stated 24 max character limit when i bought ticket. So my first names are initials and surname in full, no spaces.

I checked with PAL who state this *might* be an issue upon boarding? OTA saying it is not. Weird never had an issue before or did i dealdwith overzealous phone staff?

Interesting.

I believe that if you want to use the miles for ANA redemption, it might be better to actual credit to Mabuhay Miles. I just don't know if they can see a lot of availability with ANA. From what I can gather from LONDON to TOKYO will cost a minimum of 80k points with ANA, while MM only cost 60k points.

No real chance to direct points to Hotel partners.

Only 63k points for the same trip using EY miles and you can family pool? Something to think about.
