Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.

Couldn't help myself so bought one too. Don't imagine it will stick, but no harm in trying and would be fun surprise. Funny though that in the emails with confirmation and etickets, they mentioned a few times that tickets were ABSOLUTELY 100% GUARANTEED !!

Check My Trip seat map....
Got in on this one for next April....
Thank you OP, even if it doesn't stick......

When I check the reservation on checkmytrip.com, the seat map is only showing seats in economy class.
I don't have a lot of experience with the website, so maybe I'm just not doing it right.....
But my rez was definitely in C when I made it (and reflects that in the confirmation email) ...

Got on it for early May for a fun trip. Funny thing, when imported into checkmytrip app, the only seatmaps it will show are Economy
Hope it is honored, although not the end of the world if not.

Putting it into Check My Trip won't be of any use - Philippine Airlines and lastminute.com both use Sabre. The reason you see a Y seat map in Check My Trip is that it's just scraped your imported email for the key information, and didn't include the class. Therefore it just shows a standard seat map for Y. Your imported booking doesn't link in any way to the real booking.

If you put the booking reference into Virtually There (which is Sabre), it'll either work, or it'll give you a message saying "THIS RESERVATION DOESN'T HAVE EMAIL, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR TRAVEL ARRANGER"

I would strongly recommend you don't contact your travel arranger. The less human contact, the better.

The lastminute.com email contained both a Sabre and an Amadeus PNR (as well as a ticket number).
I could open the booking both on TripCase (Sabre) and CheckMyTrip (Amadeus) by entering the respective PNR, NOT forwarding any emails. I didn’t see a seat map though.

Interesting. An example lastminute.com email had PNR and PNR-CRS in it. When I queried them in Amadeus, it returned NO MATCH FOR RECORD LOCATOR.

Which PNR did you use?

Which PNR did you use?
The PNR was letters only -> Sabre.
The PNR-CRS was letters and digits -> Amadeus.

So where can you see the seatmap?

Oh, also CheckMyTrip shows the cabin class as “business”.
In the TripCase app, I can pull up a seat map, but it’s not much use as it shows rows 1 through 65...
