Top tips for the "Dim Sum / Chicken adobo" fare:
  • At more than 5 weeks after most of us booked this fare it looks increasingly likely that the fare will stick. However prudence is still advisable and we should all avoid contacting the booking agent and if essential to contact try to deal with the airline direct.
  • Check that your original itenary is intact and ticketed as PAL revised their LHR flight schedule in early September and there appear to now only be 5 flights a week now rather than daily. Use TripCase to do this - see post #114 on how to do this (thanks to @MyFlights App). If you have incurred an involuntary change you can contact PAL and they will permit one change to amend your itenary. They appear to be flexible to shift flights to adjacent days, but if you try to push to be rerouted on another carrier to maintain the original itenary times you might find your flights are cancelled and you end up with a refund.
  • Online seat assignments are not possible on PAL when booked through a 3rd party, you have to call up, it is best to call PAL on 0808 164 9888 rather than the booking agent.
  • Whilst it looks like the fare is going to stick be aware that making other travel arrangements around this booking are at your own risk so consider making bookings that are refundable or covered by insurance if needed.
In hopes that this will go ahead, here's a wiki to see who's going and when.

Had a chance to book one but the dates were to close to my recent HX deal and couldn't find any near Feb and March. Well, move on to next.

Booked one ticket on airfarenetwork using US Citi card, and got a confirmation email from the website right after that showing the ticket's status as "confirmed". However, after 2 hours, got another email with the same content except that the status became "Credit Card Denied".
Citi's website indicated no pending charges.
So booked another one with a different return date, using Chase this time. Again got the first confirmation email with "confirmed" status. Haven't received any other email after 20 minutes so far, but there's also no pending charge on Chase's website either.
In both cases the ticket can be seen as "confirmed" on checkmytrip.com and tripcase.com

Anyone having the same problem?

Just realized mine said "credit card denied" the whole time. I booked on mobile at work so I was rushing it and glanced over email.
This is so odd– they issue a whole email with a locator code and my seat selection with a note to the right saying credit card denied. Booked with Chase. Anyone else run into this issue?

Hoping it sticks for the rest of you!

I think it's just been pulled, prices are back up to £1400 ish for the dates I was looking at in March, although booked very lastminute(!) as prices were going up :P
Those lastminute rouges annoyingly tricked me into adding the FullFlex insurance on the last checkout page, but I note you can cancel that within 14 days for no penalty
Now we just have to wait to see if the tickets are honoured.

Noting that you can't use the PAL website for bookings with third parties, it's really annoying you can't use the manage my booking feature online to check the reservation. This is a 4* airline?
I've tried the Saudi website which used to take almost any eticket number that that loophole seems to have been closed down - is there any other way to verify a PAL booking online?
