Is the UK more strict than the US on holding airlines to discounted fares like this one?

It's a bit of an odd-ball destination (from the UK) and the money is still quite serious for a whim, so I don't think more than a couple of dozen tickets will have gone off the shelf in the window the fare was available.

It'll probably not be worth the faff and fallout to cancel tickets - given a relatively small take-up and recent meltdowns the airline has been through.

So those with their hearts set on Guayaquil will probably be lucky!

Booked two, one through cheapo air and one direct using the AARP discount. Hope this goes through!

If it does I'll hit MVP Gold 75k this year. ^

Thanks for posting this!

AARP discount worked? It should only work for US originating flights.

It was in the middle of the night in the UK, so probably not much booked from there...

It booked mine far apart going for two trips instead, first time in that country. Is GYE good for two trips, do I have to do Galapagos now? It is $250 for Galapagos, not too bad.

Bummer, just woke up!

Oh well, it saves me some stress. I honestly doubt it'll stick. The last time BA had such a fare in 1st class not only did they cancel but they were also very rude.

Anybody remembers the Kuala Lumpur fare? I think it was 2 years ago.

Hmmm you're probably right, I just thought it credited because the British direct purchase was around $150 cheaper.

Why wouldn't it stick? This is a normal promo fare totally in line with the service to expect from BA nowadays

Luckily I couldn't sleep because of jetlag and thus booked this (for me) totally useless trip.

That's true, very reasonable price for BA F.... They haven't honored any of their F sales though, that's worrying...BA is so fickle with their sales...The last one honored was the OSL J fare.
