They were absolutely horrible. I'll never use them again. But Chase was helpful. I charged them back, no problem.

For anyone who's curious, I just flew on the EK mistake fare a few days ago - MLE-DXB-VIE.
To catch this flight, I booked UL, doing SIN-CMB-MLE. I traveled without any check-in luggage. It's possible to transit the MLE airport without going through passport control (I'm not sure how this works if you have check-in baggage). After arriving at the MLE airport, I saw a sign for transit passengers, and notified a guard that I'll be transiting. He called a guy, who showed up 5-10 min later. The guy then took my passport, and got my boarding passes for me, before escorting me to the departure waiting hall.
In Dubai, I had a 6 hr layover - not a good time to check into a hotel. For those with Priority Pass, it's possible to go to the sleep 'n fly lounge in Terminal 3, Concourse A. Priority Pass gives you 2 free hours in one of their sleep pods. Think of it as a SQ 777-300 ER J bed. I think it's possible to stack Priority Passes - unfortunately I didn't apply for more Priority Passes that come with my other credit cards.

Cant wait to fly this mistake.
I had a reservation on hold booked directly with emirates that was cancelled, DOT complaint filed and then 3 weeks later they called me to reinstate the reservation.
I am piggy backing this off another a AA mistake fare from NRT-ATL which I have already used the first portion, I was going to let the return expire, but free positioning
Current Routing FLL-ATL(layover)-DFW-NRT-MNL(Stopover)-SIN(Stopover)-MLE(Stopover)-DXB-FLL
NRT-MNL is in J on DL for 30k Skypesos
MNL-SIN-MLE is in J on SQ for 35k Krisflier Miles +$100 for the Stopover
DXB-FLL I just upgraded to J for 70,200 Skywards Miles
The plan is to let the return FLL-MLE expire and eat the $100 if I have too, maybe try to move it if they will let me and take a return with in 12 months.
I am crediting the flights to AS. I wonder if the earning will be any different doing a milage upgrade to J on DXB-FLL. From the looks of it my fare was in class K but the flex awards should all be in E,R,W from what Ive read.
Happy travels

Seychelles
After looking at the map and flight choices, we decided to go to Seychelles. We thought about going back to Conrad Maldives but a new destination sounds good. Plus we can put the ~$1,500 seaplane costs (3 of us) towards island hopping or other fun activities in Seychelles. Sounds good to me.
For miles redemptions:
NYC to SEZ via EK (40K JAL miles or 47.5K Alaska miles in Y) with a 2 day stopover for my son to see Burj Khalifa (he doesn't remember our trip when he was almost 2).
SEZ to CMB via Sri Lankan (10K Avios + ~$170). I need to call Etihad Guest to see if I can redeem their miles for this route. This route is missing on their chart but possibly redeemable.
CMB to MLE on EK ($175 cash or some UR points)
MLE to JFK (super cheap ow fare)
Hotels are limited with 3 Hiltons and 1 SPG properties. Looks like we will split time between the Le Meridien and an independent property is Praslin.

I missed that on google flights. A nice option but I think I will stick with EK as it will be the same equipment that we fly for MLE-DXB sector and I am hopeful they can check our bags all the way to JFK so we have one less thing to worry about in MLE airport.
Can't beat that. I am guessing on Turkish?

Thanks for sharing. I chose a long 14hr layover, hoping to go out and explore city before I get on the dreaded DXB-FLL 15 hr flight.
Do you know if you can book your "stay" in advance? asking as SO also has one so we can get a 4hr blk.

Best of luck, though! They do have some nice-looking sleep suites, and might give you the large one since you're a couple. Do bring a blanket or something - it was really cold, but I didn't feel like purchasing a blanket for two hours (limited luggage space).
Also, on the note of naps, the Lounge@B (also priority pass) that's right above the McDonald's actually has nice couches for napping. They also do provide complimentary blankets on request. They allow PP holders to stay for a 4-hr block.

After almost three months after my Priceline-booked MLE-JFK ticket was refunded without my asking, more than a dozen phone calls to Emirates and Priceline to re-issue the ticket without success, my ticket was finally re-issued today and charged to my credit card with the original booking amount. Only took a DOT complaint to make it happen!

I have decided that I won't be using my ticket unfortunately.
Some people reported getting refunds when they cancelled back when it was uncertain if the fare would be honored. I figure that it won't hurt to try asking but I am looking if anyone has done so recently and if the recommendation is to call or try submitting the refund request online? (I booked directly through Emirates.)
