AA/One World: 2017-2018 Consolidated Mileage/Status/Challenge Runs help needed
.
Requesters and responders, please read this wiki before posting.
.
In order to organize Mileage/Status/Challenge Run threads, the Moderators have decided to create a consolidated thread. This is the thread for American Airlines.

For each request:
  1. do a search on your departure airport(s) to see if there's a MR already posted that might fit your need
  2. if you don't find what you need, post your request using the standardized format shown below in this wiki
  3. it's nice form to acknowledge the responder with a post indicating whether the assistance worked for you or not. This helps everyone learn about successful runs
  4. if several days have gone by and you have not received a reply, bump up your original post with a (gentle) re-ask. It might be your post was missed in the fray
For each response:
  1. quote the original request
  2. include the route cities, price, airline, cabin/class, EQMs/EQDs, and dates for the solution(s) found
  3. whenever possible, include a link to the solution as found on Google Flights, or attach as screen print of the solution if from another source

_________________________________________________

For each request, use this format as shown. A glossary follows to clarify each entry.

Departure Airport(s):
EQMs or EQSs Needed:
EQDs Needed:
Max Budget:
Available Travel Dates:
Max # Travel Nights:
AA only, or Partners Okay:
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N):

If there is additional information you'd like to share that is pertinent to your request, feel free to add it after this standardized request format.
_________________________________________________

GLOSSARY:
Departure Airport(s): list the airport codes of any airports you can depart from, identifying preferred airports if any
EQMs or EQSs Needed: the number of each/either that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
EQDs Needed: the number that you need to reach status. Please be as precise as possible, as some MRs can be within a few of your goal.
Max Budget: the maximum amount you're willing to spend to reach status. Less is always preferable, but a max is an important factor. Please make this a realistic number for your goal.
Available Travel Dates: list the range of dates you're available. The more you list, the better your chances of getting a good MR.
Max # Travel Nights: the maximum number of nights you're willing to be away. The nights might be at the destination or at a layover city. If cannot be gone overnight at all, list 0 or "day run only". Again, please make this realistic for your goal.
AA only, or Partners Okay: if you want to only AA-coded flights (e.g. for upgrades, etc), then list "AA only". If you are okay with flying on partners (especially useful for EQD runs), then list "either".
Have Chinese Visa? (Y/N): if you have a Chinese visa that will be valid at the time of the MR, then list "Y". Many good MRs have destinations in China, but you need a visa for those destinations.

Help needed - EQM's from DFW

Help with American Airlines EQM's!

Departure Airport: DFW
Miles Needed: 2636 EQM's - EQD's are OK
Required Spend or Budget: Cheap
Available Travel Dates: Weekends until Dec 17. Prefer same day return flights.

I found a few really cheap same day return flights on ITA Matrix but when I go to book the flight, the EQM's do not match the miles flown. (Example - Nov 11 - DFW-ORD-DFW - $75). Rather than the 1602 miles (801 for each segment), I found that I only earn a total of 801 miles due to the reduced economy fare.

I thought that I had figured out a way to find the cheap mileage runs but the new rules have me all messed up.

So, I am looking for a really cheap way to get 2636 miles.

Thanks in advance.

Or run up to BOS and back

https://www.google.com/flights/#sear...231;a=ONEWORLD

Only 2 segments for $169

Make sure not to book in Basic Economy which won't earn as much EQM

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with timing a complicated mileage run leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday that will allow me a 5-6 day layover in Dallas, with a return back to NYC.

Ideally it would look like: NYC - Place 1 - Place 2 - Place 3 - DFW (for a few days) - NYC

Here's the pertinent info:

Departure Airport: NYC/EWR/PHL
Miles Needed: As many as I can bank (I am at 32,095 EQM)
Required Spend or Budget: Less than $500
Required Metal or Codeshares okay: AA

Available Travel Dates:
-Can do the run any time from 11/19 -22
-Need to land in DFW on 11/21 or 11/22
-Need to be on a direct DFW-NYC flight on 11/26

Thanks for any and all help!!!

EDIT: Would love to keep this domestic or within the Americas if needed...

Hey guys I got busy and did not book the BA flight that you guys had recommended. I looked today and the price has gone way up. They still had the option available, but the dfw to lhr leg was on aa. The lhr to hkg was on BA. I assume this would not work since it would limit my eqd earnings. Can you guys see if there is something else available. Appreciate the help. Just learned gotta move quick. Thanks

Here is my situation:

EQD= I have $8000
EQM= I have 69,000

Looking to hit at least platinum pro, but i would love to get executive

Budget: 3.5K
Originating airport= DFW

Time table is the first 3 weeks of december. I cannot leave the entire time but I have pockets during those weeks that I can leave for a run.

Thanks a bunch for the help guys. I am a newbie at this and also excited to hit these goals as well.[/QUOTE]

It's not sub $500, but this fits your other criteria. The DFW-NYC direct flight on 11/26 is what's jacking up the cost. Busy travel day.

If you can position to ORD, here's a great run I saw from swingaling: https://www.google.com/flights/?curr...ORD0CX806;sc=p

ORD-HKG-ORD: 23,382 EQM | 3,118 EQD | 15,588 RDM
HKG-MLE-HKG: 8,928 EQM | 1,488 EQD | 7,440 RDM
TOTALS: 32,310 EQM | 4,606 EQD | 23,028 RDM (before status bonus)

100% impossible for $500.

The 4 day stop kicks you onto a Y fare, so it's not possible to do this cost effectively.

Just do something like this: LGA-DFW-HKG-LAX-DFW-LGA on AA in Y for $600 | 18,000 EQM if you skip the last flight

Then just buy a one-way DFW-NYC for the 26th.
