Is the fare being honored? For all carriers? Yes, and yes, so far it seems we have EY, EK, QR and BA segments that seem to have worked fine.
Can I make changes to my ticket before I fly the first segment? There haven't been any reports of this yet. While technically you should be able to make changes to other than the first segment prior to flying, it's unlikely you'll get an agent to do that. If you booked through a travel agent, your agent may be able to do this. If you booked through an online OTA, it's unlikely. But give it a try and report back.
Can I make changes once I have flown the first segment? There is at least one report from a FT member that they checked with a BA agent in London about changing routing and moving to the LHR-LAX A380 and that member didn't get any resistance or any indication there would be any amount collected (this FT member ultimately didn't make the change so the ticket wasn't actually reissued). From all reports, BA hasn't done anything to mark these fares, so being what they are (fully flex F), you should be able to make changes in LHR, even rerouting and your transAtl segment and adding additional segments within the US on AA, assuming there is space at the last minute.

Depends on if they're AA coded or BA coded and whether you have elite status or not. Also depends on what program you credit to - below are the numbers for AAdvantage.
Base Miles:
DXB-LHR - 3421
LHR-LAX - 5456
LAX-AUS - 1242
BA Coded Flights get you:
DXB-LHR
EQM = 3421
EQP = 5131
RDM = 5131 (non Elite), 6842 (AA Gold), 8552 (AA Plat and EXP)
LHR-LAX
EQM = 5456
EQP = 8184
RDM = 8184 (non Elite), 10912 (AA Gold), 13640 (AA Plat and EXP)
LAX-AUS
EQM = 1242
EQP = 1863
RDM = 1863 (non Elite), 2484 (AA Gold), 3105 (AA Plat and EXP)
AA Coded Flights get you (assuming you take the flights are 5/15/2015):
DXB-LHR
EQM = 3421
EQP = 6842 (booked in A), 10263 (booked in F)
RDM = 11131 (non Elite), 12842 (AA Gold), 14552 (AA Plat), 20552 (AA EXP)
LHR-LAX
EQM = 5456
EQP = 10912 (booked in A), 16368 (booked in F)
RDM = 14184 (non Elite), 16912 (AA Gold), 19640 (AA Plat), 25640 (AA EXP)
LAX-AUS
EQM = 1242
EQP = 2484 (booked in A), 3726 (booked in F)
RDM = 2363 (non Elite), 2984 (AA Gold), 4005 (AA Plat), 4105 (AA EXP)
This is a very quick estimate so there might be errors in it. I recommend you double check the calculations before taking them as accurate I can't recall if the fare books into A or F fare buckets so for the AA coded flights I've given both numbers as a guide. I've also assumed you're flying on either a BA or AA operated flight.

Was able to get DXB-DOH (QR-788) DOH-LHR (QR-380) LHR-LAX (BA-380) LAX-AUS (AA)
1484.30 AI. Just under the wire. Purchased in GDS. Now it's pricing out to 8997.00. Pulls up perfectly on BA.com and QR site. Let's see what BA says!

It looked like it only disappeared from BA.com in the last 20 minutes or so.
I was booking it on ba.com and it got all the way through credit card verification but my stupid browser decided that it couldn't do proper redirection. Trying a different card didn't help. A few minutes later the same booking was showing as now <full price>.

I was never able to get the BA segment up on BA.com, it showed in my Exec Club listing of flights (I'd put our BA #s in at booking) but when I clicked it returned an error. I can see ticket #s and all flights when checking at Finnair, so who know what the BA error is about. I think I booked the first one just an hour after this went live, so doubt this was flagged at that point. I also put our EY's in and those AUH-LHR segments all show up fine when I log in and check there.

I finally got in on one of these. I booked 3 (really 5 because I screwed up and booked two simple routings on the ba site initially). I've got two for June and one for July. The best routing I could do was DXB-LHR-LAX-JFK-AUS all on BA except the last two segments.
I was trying to find one with EY or EK F, but I got frustrated and gave up. I almost skipped the gym and didn't eat dinner until 2200 because of this fare. My coworkers thought I was insane, although I almost had one convinced to come along.

Wow, what an interesting sale!
Did anyone book this journey with stopovers? I see that the fare rules say "UNLIMITED STOPOVERS PERMITTED ON THE OUTBOUND AND ON THE INBOUND FARE COMPONENTS", but I don't know whether doing that might have for some reason hurt the pricing ("higher intermediate point check?")..

Around 11:15pm my time, I noticed that the windows were closing. Tickets were no longer bookable on Expedia, even on flights with no EK/EY component, so I fled to PL, where I successfully booked a one-way trip next month (!!) on a DXB-LHR-ORD-AUS route, with the first two legs on BA and in F. (I *do* hope I get their upgraded F on both legs; I'll have to check the BA boards to see if they've upgraded the metal used on those particular flights.) Total cost was $1,440, and I have separate confirmation numbers for BA and AA.
My first successful price-mistake ticket! Yay me! Now there's just the *wee* problem of figuring out how to get to Dubai...

Me too, but I think I was a couple of hours ahead of you. I receive an email "ping" about the fare error around 10:30pm CST, and since I will likely soon be living in AUS, I went straight to work. I could *not* find a freakin' thing on *any* combination including of a leg on EK or EY; much as I have been DYING to try out both of their F products.
