You snooze you lose, it's a capitalist market, things changed every minute, i can't go back to tell the airline 5 days later i wanted to fly on day 1 instead of day 2 without incurring a change fee.

And this is from a Canadian and 3 friends who coordinated our trip within 2 hours, and we're doing BUF-LAS so not everyone that bought stole your bit.
so if you really motivated to go, you would've done whatever possible to get it done. As a 10000+ poster, you should know better that mistake fares don't wait for you, you see them, you pounce on it quick.
When do you guys depart? I'm on a BUF-ORD-LAS as well on UA.

Please don't take it the wrong way, but you seem to have been on FT for over a decade, remember the first rule, book first, think about it later. These things never last, coordination on a free (or almost free) ticket involves a few TXT messages or a call. Sorry man, better luck next time.

As a someone who is relatively new to this, can someone explain why a No-Show ≠ Cancel?

Also, for the seasoned FT's who are skipping portions of the package, why would you want to 'check-in' versus just not showing up? Wouldn't that be worse than not showing up at all?
Cause the Rules & Restrictions page in the itinerary spells out penalties for no-show as forfeiture of that portion of trip, be it Hotel or the Air portion.

Cancel is when you call xp before your travel begins to get a refund of a portion of your trip, again be it Hotel or the Air part. Most hotels in xp packages would let you cancel and refund what you paid for them if you call before your travel begins but doing that might potentially jeopardize the $300 voucher under the revised T&C.

It's up to you to assess the risk, even if your original T&C does not have that portion.

You have 28K posts on FT and have been around for years, you should know by now how this works. Most of the bookings were made when the T&C did not say you had to fly from Canada or be a Canadian citizen. We weren't physically in Canada but we paid in Canadian funds to the Canadian Division of expedia, These are canadian bookings plan and simple as required by the origional T&C

So with everyone getting throw away reservations. The old terms did not say anything about canceling or voiding the coupon if you break up the package and no show on hotel or airfare or shows to get advantage of only 1 item. What happens when you no show on hotel and airfare will expedia try to chargeback the $300. More importantly when you miss you outbound and inbound roundtrip ticket does the airline company report anything to expedia. Also does the hotel company report anything and i figure we do not have to pay the resort fee since the hotel has no card on file and we are not present at the resort to take advantage of the resort

thanks

hmm
so I'm still confused a bit.
for the throwaway flight would I:
1. no-show
2. checkin and no-show
3. call and cancel

I'm thinking 1.

and for the throwaway hostel
1. no-show
2. call and cancel

I'm thinking 1

My plan was to spend a few hours at the airport casino before getting on my flight back home but if the no show at the hotel is going to cause any implications of my booking and me getting charged by Expedia, I guess I'll have no choice but go to the hotel and eat the $10 resort fee, plus the cab fare. Not alot of $$$ but quite time consuming.

11/20/2010 DELTA AIR LINE DL PGZCTD Pending - Approved Purchase * $349.51

That's the history I have in my credit card. I got a call from their fraud department today to see if I really gave Expedia my number.
The thing is all it was supposed to be debited from my account was 98 canadian dollars. I managed to book only one trip! I don't get why they are trying to charge me 200+

I spent 2 hours and a half today on the phone with Expedia (+3h yesterday) and they said today they cannot cancel it, the flight is non-refundable. And when I asked about my 300 credit, they said the deal is not on. I argued that the deal was on when I purchased and that is what it's in my itinerary history.

They said my hotel was already cancelled, by the way! Suggestion: check if your hotel is really booked.

You should have booked more quickly. Thousands in the US, Canada, and even elsewhere managed to pull the trigger before the offer was pulled. @:-)

I recommend you don't dawdle in the future on any deals, regardless of for whom they seem to be intended. @:-) @:-)

I saw it post Fri. aft. and presume it disappeared late last night so how is that 48 hours? Seems more like 36 to me if we're counting.

Regardless there was plenty of time for folks to pull the trigger and those who didn't can't say they had too little time.
