ExpediaDo: Las Vegas, Dec 17-19, 2010
Prompted by a number of people who are going to be in LAS that weekend due to Expedia.ca's $300 off Vegas flights promotion, I present: ExpediaDo.
I promise to do very little organization of this (other than listing FTers attending and places where they might be meeting).

(reserved for listing gatherings)
Thursday the 16th:
LAS President's Club, December 16th, 10:30 pm:
Spiff:
LAS cocktail hour will be Dec 16th at ~10:30pm.
Friday the 17th:
(nothing yet... Anything? Anyone? Bueller, Bueller, Buuuuueeeelllller... I don't get in until 10 pm so I won't be driving Friday events)
Saturday the 18th:
eponymous_coward:
I will be at Dim Sum at Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast Casino at 11 am, Saturday, December 18th (shuttle service from the Strip, he may also have a car).
I think noshing over Dim Sum on a Saturday morning is a pretty good way to wake up in Las Vegas, and this place is actually pretty good for being in a casino.

reserved for useful things I will make note of:
For you AS folks in the thread, I was able to use Contract ID 7015046 and Coupon Code: AF4582SDA to get a compact for $34.62 all-in, Dec 17-19. (The trick is that since it's a coupon code that requires 3 day rental, set a rental time for 2 days and one half-hour. The coupon will take then.)
This is probably cheaper than cab fare to the Strip from McCarran (and only a little more expensive than a round-trip shuttle).
For other folks, the coupon may work with your preferred contract ID (such as the US Airways one mentioned here on FT.)

Welcome to ExpediaDo! Please feel free to discuss your travel plans, suggest events and gatherings, discuss fun things to do in Vegas, and whatever else seems to be topical.
(If you do chance on good deals that would be relevant, that would be good to share as well.)
I will try to update things that are going on and people attending in the posts above, and will quasi-host the Dim Sum breakfast Saturday.
Feel free to participate in as many or as little of the events as you choose. This isn't anything resembling organized, but hopefully this will be a fun time for all of us!

I see someone beat me to this I was going to plan one for the 17th-20th
USA18DCA + 3 will be in Town the 18-20th Staying at Circus Circus.
I'd suggest we organize some kind of Happy Hour on the 18th for all FlyerTalkers alike somewhere central on the Strip!

While I won't be there, might I suggest this place? Some of us FTers met there last April when we were in town:
MGM, "West Wing Bar" (it has a happy hour from 5:00-8:00pm). IIRC it's buy one, get one free AND they let you mix & match. It's also on the side/off of the casino floor & a bit trendy-like, which means it's not as crowded & you don't have to listen to the 'ding, ding, dings' of those stoo-pid slot machines.
Cheers.

I'm in town for the day of the 16th only - in that morning, out at 12:50 AM "that night" (next day, so it counts as an overnight). I won't have a car and will probably work from the Regus business center just north of the airport so I'm not "off" work, but I'd love to get together for a meal that night somewhere (or a poker game) before flying out. PM me to make sure I see it, or reply here.
