Even though some itineraries listed KE F, as far as I know, only Biz class seats were booked. Plan accordingly.

@Jamie.. my etickets say F, so I am buying Korean F if it comes to that.
They will have a very difficult time explaining to a judge how a "F' product sold as such is really J.

I highly doubt a judge will abide by this one.

On the ticket it says first, but when you go to virtuallythere.com it says you are in business class. I would say on the safe side (if you are taking this to court etc..) buy business. Or you might be paying the difference between C and F out of your own pocket.

Does the average ticket buyer go to ''virtually there'?
Is that reasonable?
Or when one buys a F ticket on from a airline does one have a 'REASONABLE'
expectation of flying in F.

Thats all one needs to prove.

Well, we all have ideas what we think is right. Good luck, and let us know how it turns out!

This is not an uncommon practice. UA is probably AC's largest codeshare partner. UA sells AC seats as First on its website, and lists the cabin as first, while in actuality, AC has no first class. UA First Class codeshared on AC = Business Class. Good luck with all of this.

I sent my option number 4 to HA via regular mail yesterday. Will probably send information by e-mail as well, for information purposes only (paper mail delivery may take about 20 days).

Ultimatum received

Just an update. Got a second letter from the "advocate" of HA

"We apologize for the invalid fare you purchased on our website. This ticket
is not valid for first-class travel.
Your reservations are however still confirmed for travel from Incheon to
Honolulu on April 5 with a return date of May 1 in coach class. Please
call us by September 15 to discuss your compensation options. We have a
dedicated team of people to speak with you at the following numbers:
English: 1-877-892-8899 (Daily, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time)
Korean: +82 2 775-1573 (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Korea Standard
Time)
Please call one of these numbers at your earliest convenience.
Sincerely,"

I guess I will have to decide soon on what to do and give them my 4th option.

Seems that lots of "victims" have success in their 4th option and for the rest still fighting it out. I guess I will see what their reaction is to my 4th option.

Cheers!

Cool

I got a similar one too, but with no ultimatum.....

Dear Paella747:

We regret that the ticket you booked recently for travel between Incheon,South Korea, and Honolulu, Hawaii, was purchased under an incorrect farethat was mistakenly posted on our website, and therefore the ticket isinvalid and can't be used for travel.
An email was sent on XXX stating our various offers of compensationdue to the inconvenience. We understand that you denied the full refund option and need to travel as scheduled (on XXX and XXX). We have therefore kept your reservation confirmed for travel in coach. We would like to offer you compensation for this situation and a team of people have been dedicated to speak with you regarding this matter.
Pleasecall one of these numbers at your earliest convenience. English: 1-877-892-XXXX (Daily, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Hawaii Standard Time) Korean: +82 2 775-XXXX (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Korea Standard Time)
We appreciate your patience and hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
XXXXXX_XXXXXXXX

Yeah, mine was similar, no ultimatum but seemed a bit more snarky.. particularly as I havent even spoken to them yet.!

Dear cmdsea

We regret that you purchased an invalid fare on our website.

This email is to confirm that we have downgraded your party to coach from
Incheon to Honolulu on xxxx 2011 and from Honolulu to Incheon on xxxx 2011. If you would like to accept other options, please call 82 2
775-1573 (Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Korea Standard Time).

We look forward to serving you in the future.

Sincerely,

xxxx xxxxxx

Update

Just called again [they never called nor replied through email although they promised] to ask about the counteroffer I proposed and it was informed that it was not accepted.
They are currently just sticking to their 3 options proposed earlier. I will call back and discuss on further options.

ps: was just checking how much their e-vouchers would bring me on inter-island flights, and sadly, the 600 USD offer is quite pathetic, not even able to visit all the islands and that is in coach!

Cheers!

Any update?

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any updates from the rest whom had recent contacts with HA after their last email?

I have requested that their legal department contact me for follow up. Currently they are not giving into anything outside of their original 3 options as mentioned earlier.

Cheers!

I used the free RT tickets from this deal. They earned miles.
