  • Fare feels too good to be true? Don't call the airline!!!!!!
  • Double check that the fare is actually in Business or First as some online search engines or OTA's confuse booking classes on some airlines.
  • Post as many details as possible about the First / Business fare, including fare class, fare basis, one-way / roundtrip, sales channel, sample dates & total price, including taxes.
  • Post the details within the thread itself and not in the post title field as any information typed here cannot be seen by members accessing the thread using mobile devices.
  • Refrain from posting fare requests or engaging in off topic debates such as fare trends, specific aircraft configuration or visa requirements
  • The deeply discounted international fares discussed here are almost always specific to a certain country of origin, so don't ask if it works in reverse (e.g. a SFO-LHR-SFO fare usually won't work LHR-SFO-LHR). Domestic fares more commonly work in reverse.
  • Last, but not least, Don't call the Airline!

$.126 per mile. After P fare bonus about $.10 per RDM and $.085 per PQM.
I think the situation is that it is dead on SkyTeam and OW, but still active with *A. And yes, some of the fares are cheaper on *A than they were. DFW-MAD is now $1564 ai.

So the question is: if *A doesn't pull, then will the other alliances revive?

I hope they do. But in all honesty, I suspect they'll all be dead sooner rather than later.

On a cheerier note, it is time to post a Spain meet up thread in CommunityBuzz??

A little change of pace as I look to go to TH again in May (depending on whether you're a miles, points or redeemable addict, these may appeal)--seem a bit better deal than all the MADness:

AMS KUL BKK r/t ($2428ai, MH, booked Z/J/Z/Z): 14232 EQM (17.1cpm), 21348 EQP (11.4cpm), 32022 RDM (7.6cpm-with AA PLT boni). 777/738.

FRA AMM BKK r/t ($1782ai, RJ, booked I/I/I/I): 12278 EQM (14.5cpm), 18417 EQP (9.7cpm), 27265 RDM (6.5cpm-with AA PLT boni). Airport appreciation break in AMM. 321/330.

Can't find these on *A airline website as all connections either through HKG or back westward thru LHR or ORD and continuing west. Kinda ignores East options with two other OW full members. Never been on either airline...but I've seen them on TV [oh, and at work].

Thanks. I read the detailed fare rules of my DFW>MAD and also just did a historical lookup on the same. The only entry in the Sales Restrictions was that it wasn't available in Iran.

So I suppose that it if there isn't a sell-by restriction, then the carrier can shut down the fare at any time.

When I priced things in Galileo, it would say must be ticketed by 06 Mar 13. But I think that was just for the "must ticket within 72 hours" holdover rule when you had to show up at the travel agency or city ticket office with a check or cash.

Anyway, the moral of the story is when a deal like MADness happens, act now!

Looks like the fare is dead on Star Alliance as well now (at least in May).

This is as good a deal as one will get out of this part of the world. Thanks to all who posted the DL MAD deal as it got me looking. Saved $3-4 grand likely on this itin for two tix.
The MOT-LHR deal on DL looks to have disappeared overnight as well (KL was matching). I couldn't find it on *A.

For some reason this deal seems to have paralleled the MAD deals others have reported though I don't think it was as widespread. I didn't see it out of DFW, for example, but neither did I do a wide-ranging search.

Fantastic fare indeed. I wonder why they only offer it out of Germany in the european market. They did the same thing last year I remember and booked a MUC-DXB-BKK in F for less than 3000€
Did it again this time on a FRA-DXB-PVG/HKG-DXB-FRA for 2890 € in F, for Xmas and New Year and the fare is valid beyond December 31 2013, since I fly back on January 4, 2014.
A whopping 49000 points with the miles accelerator bonuses

Thanks OP for the great deal

DL: ABQ-SJU-HNL-SJU-ABQ 2500.40 P Fare

I know this a variation of previous SJU fares, but no positioning flights from ABQ, which is rare. Booked late Oct/Early Nov.
2 PNR's:
1st is abq-atl-sju-atl-abq 856.20 P Fare
2nd is sju-atl-slc-hnl-sea-jfk-sju 1644.20 P Fare
Some flat beds and recliners sprinkled in. Other routing available, could not get the hnl-atl a330 flight at this fare.

Earns 27,568 MQM = 9 cents per
RDM(inc AX bonus) = 50,944= 5 cents per all if F/C

Maybe not true MR, but a good deal Premium fare since I have to be in HNL anyway and P fare is 2391.00 abq-slc-hnl r/t.

For those of you looking for deals in first class, I am finding both LH and LX with $4,627 ai fares LAX-MAD. Didn't check extensively, but found dates available in June. The same flights out of ORD/JFK/EWR are $5,800+, so one of the few times a TATL premium cabin is cheaper from the west coast.

There is no 10-day minimum on these F fares.

This is not an MR by any stretch, but I think a good deal if you want F on airlines that have an excellent F product.

EQM = 20,127.
RDM with COS bonus = 32,389.
Best case RDM if you are UA 1k = 45,807.

Thank you! A routing that hadn't occurred to me. It is going on my possibilities list.

A brief note - it seems that the TATL portion of this flight (YYZ-CDG) may feature ACs new Executive seats which are not to be confused with the pods aka Executive suites.
