I noticed skycap service at UA is back - sort of. Maybe only for the morning bank of flights? Not using the old baggage belt that used to go from skycap podium to the underground. They're hauling flatbed carts full of bags to the UA counter and having to push through the line of premiers waiting to check bags. Not very efficient during the morning scrum. Also noted the line at the UA purple express bag drop was quite long and people seemed kinda clueless about which line to be in, regular bag check vs. express bag drop.

If you're willing to pay us we'll fly you there? Seems like AA is leaving money on the table.

This typical pricing for any region 1 route right now. Penalized for planning ahead (4+ months), find a sweet spot (3 months out), inside that, pay through the roof. Gone are the days of cheap advance purchase. Airlines revenue management is the biggest set of gluttons in the world right now.

Even if you look at n/s from ORD on your April dates, it's still $2125.
Maybe UA just doesn't like Costa Rica in general.
