If the conference site does not take prepayment, but simply books the hotel for you (takes your credit card number but simply forwards it to the hotel), you'll still be paying the hotel (just at a conference rate), and the Marriott Chase points will still be 5x.

If you haven't yet, you need to look carefully at the booking rules on the conference site to determine who bills your card when.
It seems like they just forward the reservations to the hotel. I tried to book a room and on the checkout screen they even asked for the Wyndham reward number! But Renaissance is a Marriott hotel!!! Here is a link to the reservation website.

Not on your list but it appears that you could LNF Regent's Park for that night.

There is actually a LOT of availability for hotels across the city - most hotels overestimated demand and now rates are dropping.

That link doesn't work. It says the site doesn't exist or action has expired. It looks perhaps you posted a URL from within your secure session, as opposed to the URL you use to get to the website in the first place (if you've never been there before).

Looking

Looking for a brg for the Courtyard Marriott in Flagstaff, AZ. From 8/09 - 08/14.

Marriott has a long term stay rate for 3 day long stay or more, so the reservation can be split to force the higher rate. The lower rate is 134.10. The standard rate is 149.00.

Thanks

Can anyone help with this:
Toronto Eaton Centre March 18, 2013 at $269 CAD to March 23, 2013 (with the last night being $209 CAD).

Or, if someone can PM me some home-run links that have yielded LNF success, I'd be happy to do it myself. The old standbys don't seem to work anymore.

LNF Rate guarantee if cancel policies are different?

I was looking for a room in ABQ and see Pyramid north for $210. That is the lowest rate except for $178 Marriott rewards offer. No non cancelable rates are offered. Kayak has same room for $100 on a non refundable rate.

As far as I can tell since cancel policies are different there is no way to take advantage of this fact. In fact there is no way to pay $100 and also earn points.

Anything I can do? Not willing to stay without points and not willing to pay $178.

I generally have luck with LNF on these, but only if Marriott doesn't show an ADV purchase rate and the competitor does. Sounds like you would get it. Never hurts to try.
