LNF and bonus points

Courtyard in Lancaster PA has a LNF opportunity. They also have a promo code for 2000 points per stay at this property. Can I use LNF and also get the bonus points, and then also choose miles as my earning pref for the 5000 delta miles?

Also while I am here, I thought marriott was min 500 miles per stay. All of my stays are only earning base miles of 1mile/$.

  1. CY Lancaster, PA offers MR members a special rate and 2K bonus MR points. According to T&C BRG does not apply to discount rates offered only to [...] individuals who meet previously-specified criteria, including [...] Marriott Rewards members. Consequently, if you file a claim you must reserve (lowest) publicly available rate. Rate rules of these rates don't include bonus points. I don't know if bonus points will post with MR membership rate only.
  2. Members may not earn both points and miles for the same stay. Platinum Members earning miles can not choose arrival bonus points bonus. You may switch from earning miles to points, and vice versa, before a given stay.
  3. One airline mile/USD on room rates for CY

I don't know if you are familiar with Hollywood's calendar (22nd annual Producers Guild Awards on 1/22/11)... But, I found a competitors rate which should bring you a LNF rate of $ 166.5 (+ tax). independently, don't expect to take advantage of EEO cert as Oct-Jan period will more likely end sooner. Look in your inbox...

Good luck and enjoy your stay!

@ Twickenham: As your target is Marriott's Vacation Club in Boston, I don't know if you are open for options: Marriott Copley Place Boston and Renaissance Waterfront Boston are your wallet's friends.

Come back if you need a helping hand!

Thank you
I am confident that you got already mail from our rate expert:

But I will also say that I have just as much (if not more) luck really checking Marriott's own codes....it is pretty amazing what pops up. I found a rate for my sister: DC downtown, Res Inn - $79. It didn't qualify for BRG because it required AAA - but it did not come up under a regular search; and ended up cutting her rate by almost half.

And if you can find a publicly available rate through the marriott website using codes on which you can file a LNF? Jackpot!
If not, look into your inbox, and you will find a small piece of information that might make you happy.

I have nothing to offer for your two weekend nights.

But there is substantial potential for LNF rate if you are prepared to reserve two weekday nights (Mo-We) for $ 499 (+ tax) and file a claim (competitor's rate is only good with two night minimum stay). I have no knowledge if you are allowed to cancel TuWe night later.

If my idea fits with your needs, please come back!

New York Marriott Marquis: Dec 4, 2010 - Dec 7, 2010
I found $549 for the first night and $459 for the remaining two.

I tried all of the sites I know of, but I'm no expert.

Thanks a bunch.

Likewise!

As in a previous request, I cannot help you for your Sat/Sun night. Lodging at this time of the year is costly.

But on your (two) weekday nights (Sun to Tue) I might be good for assistance. It looks like that Santa is very early in delivering presents this year! Open your inbox & if you are able to lock in a LNF rate be happy, but shop smart!

But wait: Don't waist your time in searching accomodation providers' individual HPs, go for search engines (would not helped you in this case)

Good night!

Many thanks to SmartShopper

I just learned a valuable lesson from SmartShopper: you shouldn't assume that a rate won't qualify because it isn't an exact match in T&C's. File the claim form and see what happens. Thanks to SmartShopper's extra effort (see the LNF success thread), I did put in a claim and the result will be savings of $370.

Thank you, Smart Shopper! And, yes, extending one extra weeknight is a possibility, so I would be interested in learning about the potential LNF rate.
