Your worst Marriott experience
Mine was as follows. Checked into San Francisco Airport Marriott with my wife for the a few days. That night, I went to the bathroom about 2am. Somehow, the bathroom door lock would not open. I banged on the door to awaken my wife. She called the desk and, after being assured that I was not ill or injured, they called repairman. An hour later, repairman arrived and found he could not open door from outside. He then called for additional help. Additional men arrived about one hour later. They then worked to remove door completely. I was finally freed (released) about 6am...4 hours after entering bathroom. The payoff came when, upon checking out, I was billed for the stay. Finally, I was able to get the charge removed and given a free breakfast. This all occurred almost 20 years ago. Now, being older and, hopefully somewhat smarter, I would probably ask for a boatload of miles and a complete wash of my bill.

Not my worst experience, but a first for me last weekend. Stayed at the Memphis FS downtown on a corp. rate and used EEO b1g1 free. Surrendered at check-in, but they lost it somehow, and had to re-apply at checkout. Got a new corrected bill.
Then, when I got my e-mailed bill, they had recharged my credit card for the full amount. After 2 days of disputes, it's finally corrected now. 1st time for me that the hotel "adjusted" the bill after I checked out, without telling me.

One does not come immediately to mind, so it must not have been that bad, whatever it was.

My worst Marriott experience occurred last year at the Albuquerque Marriott.
We checked in and was informed that due to a renovation there would be no water in the hotel for several hours. The water service did return a few hours later.
Next, we get to our room and we are met with the sound of drills and hammers and banging in what sounded to be the room directly above ours.
We decide that we need to get out of the hotel and maybe things will improve when we come back. This was not to be the case.
Listed as one of the "attractions" on the hotel's website was a shopping mall adjacent to this property. We took a trip over to the mall only to discover that just about every store in the place was shut down.
We came back after finding a place to eat and were met by a scam artist in the parking lot pulling the old "I need money for gas" sceme. Quickly diffused his scam by playing into his little lie at first and then revealing that I am an LEO and that perhaps he should find somewhere else to be. He retreated very quickly and then scolded me by asking, "man, why did you let me go on and waste my time, I could be asking someone else for money!" What a guy.
Next, we walk into the hotel's lobby only to find out that there is some kind of function at the hotel that evening which included "rappers" and a bunch of people driving around in SUV's with spinning rims.
Then, overnight there is a major water leak on the floor above ours, most likely from all the commotion the day before. The water was cascading down the walls of the hallways. We were then treated to the loud hum of drying fans immediately outside our door the rest of the day.
This was an overall deplorable stay in a hotel I don't think I'll ever visit again. The management wasn't overly helpful either.

My worst Marriott experience was having my car broken into twice at the CLT airport SH. Left multiple messages for manager to call to no avail. Finally called SH customer service and was promised a return phone call from someone at corporate and it has been three weeks and no response.
This is also the same property that the internet has NOT worked in 6 months. Was told each time I checked out that it was being fixed. Never ha been. No response from manager over this issue as well for the past six months.
I finally gave up on the property and just about to leave Marriott if I do not get a phone back soon concerning this property.

Hmmm....
I guess I'd say my worst experience was checking out of the Grosvenor Square Marriott in London. Actually, its happened a few times. It meant the end of our MR points vacation and visit with our daughter who lives in London had come to an end.

1. I stayed at the Pittsburgh Greentree Marriott - a blight on the system that has long since been removed. Good riddance.
2. Fire alarms and subsequent evacuation of the hotel 3 times in the wee hours of the same night at the Fairview Park Marriott in Falls Church, VA. Otherwise a nice hotel.
3. Second the earlier review of the Albuquerque Marriott. Nice to see nothing has changed.
