Mine was as follows. Checked into San Francisco Airport Marriott with my wife for the a few days. That night, I went to the bathroom about 2am. Somehow, the bathroom door lock would not open. I banged on the door to awaken my wife. She called the desk and, after being assured that I was not ill or injured,they called repairman. An hour later, repairman arrived and found he could not open door from outside. He then called for additional help. Additional men arrived about one hour later. They then worked to remove door completely. I was finally freed (released) about 6am...4 hours after entering bathroom. The payoff came when, upon checking out, I was billed for the stay. Finally, I was able to get the charge removed and given a free breakfast. This all occurred almost 20 years ago. Now, being older and, hopefully somewhat smarter, I would probably ask for a boatload of miles and a complete wash of my bill.
