My worst Marriott experience occurred last year at the Albuquerque Marriott.

We checked in and was informed that due to a renovation there would be no water in the hotel for several hours. The water service did return a few hours later.

Next, we get to our room and we are met with the sound of drills and hammers and banging in what sounded to be the room directly above ours.

We decide that we need to get out of the hotel and maybe things will improve when we come back. This was not to be the case.

Listed as one of the "attractions" on the hotel's website was a shopping mall adjacent to this property. We took a trip over to the mall only to discover that just about every store in the place was shut down.

We came back after finding a place to eat and were met by a scam artist in the parking lot pulling the old "I need money for gas" sceme. Quickly diffused his scam by playing into his little lie at first and then revealing that I am an LEO and that perhaps he should find somewhere else to be. He retreated very quickly and then scolded me by asking, "man, why did you let me go on and waste my time, I could be asking someone else for money!" What a guy.

Next, we walk into the hotel's lobby only to find out that there is some kind of function at the hotel that evening which included "rappers" and a bunch of people driving around in SUV's with spinning rims.

Then, overnight there is a major water leak on the floor above ours, most likely from all the commotion the day before. The water was cascading down the walls of the hallways. We were then treated to the loud hum of drying fans immediately outside our door the rest of the day.

This was an overall deplorable stay in a hotel I don't think I'll ever visit again. The management wasn't overly helpful either.
