Read my earlier post in this thread. I did call, spent a lot of time trying to straighten out the problem, and the supervisor I spoke with was very rude and insisted that the posts here by our Marriott representative were wrong or worse....

I missed that part just got the rep saying the MC jumped the gun. I would call back and next time you get a rude supervisor, get a name and complain to his/her supervisor.

Is everyone supposed to get an offer? Will MR customer service be able to enroll me if I e-mail them?
Every point-earning member may enroll in this promotion. If you are unable to enroll through Promotion Central, please contact Marriott Guest Services.

Best Regards,

Drew

Nice, I got #1 (Category 1-5 Free Night Certificate After Two Stays [Max 2]), and I already have four stays booked for the promotion period. (For the record, I'm currently Silver with 41 nights YTD and 6 stays / 31 nights booked so far for the rest of the year.)

A few newbie questions:

1. It says that you have to stay at participating hotels twice for each free cat 1-5 certificate. That's just two stays at participating hotels, not two stays in the SAME hotel, right?

2. It says paid stays. One of my stays is a 1 week timeshare exchange. Those count for 7 nights towards elite status, so do they count towards the promotion too? If not, I may need to shift one more stay during the promotion period over to Marriott.

3. How do you know which hotels aren't participating?

I looked today and got the 45k offer without signing up.

I'm happy.

Many people have asked, but no answer yet. Anyone able to change their offer? I changed mine in December for the spring offer, but was told this is a special thing they're doing for me and they can't change these in the future. Scared to call and ask if they're going to cite my last change.

Hi,

1. No need that the 2 stays are in the same hotel
2. Sorry, do not know the answer. Hopefully others can help
3. I guess all hotels are participating. Probably vacation clubs and/or executive apartments are not, but this is only a guess.

I was pleasantly surpised and able to change with an email.
I had the stay 2 for cat 1-5. I had changed to the 55k after 30 nights promo.
Very happy!

I'm Canadian SILVER and wasn't able to change mine @@
Guess my threat to go Hilton (I'm Gold), BW (Diamond) or Radisson (Gold) didn't work
and all Cat 4 near me are going to Cat 5 so I won't stay in Marriott either then for this one, and hope next one I get 2 x Cat 1-5 instead

At least they replied me within 20 minutes (wow), sadly not the answer I want
Dear Jerry Hung,

Thank you for contacting Marriott Rewards.

As with previous MegaBonus promotions, this one is a collection of various offers. Each member was selected for a particular version based upon an analysis of several criteria. This included, but was not limited to, stay history, current Elite status and past Elite status.
Promotions serve several purposes. They are primarily intended as an incentive for our members to stay at a Marriott hotel. Unfortunately, there is not a perfect selection method, as some members preferences change based on travel plans. Some may value the earning of bonus points more than free night certificates, and others may value free night certificates more than points. This is one reason our promotions also change.

In recognition of this, exceptions have been made for previous promotions. However, the modification of a promotional offer was an exception, not a policy. We apologize that this previously extended customer courtesy is not available for the 2013 Mid Year Summer Global Promotion.

Thank you for choosing Marriott.

Regards,

I'm SILVER elite in Canada, and recieved the Cat 1-4 offer
>- Earn one free night certificate for a category 1 to 4 hotel after every two stays. Maximum of 3 free nights.
>
>Due to recent category increases, can I request offer change to below one instead?
>- Earn one free night certificate for a category 1 to 5 hotel after every two stays. Maximum of 2 free nights.
>
>Without Cat 5, pretty much all Marriotts in my destinations all moved out of Cat 4 staring this May and may move me to Hilton (I'm HH Gold) and Best Western (I'm Diamond) or Radisson (I'm Gold)

I sent an email and I was able to swap from offer #5 to #6 based upon the amount of nights that I have already booked over the next 3 months.
