As a former Plat and now Gold, I know the Marriott website well, and for whatever reason, I am not eligible for ANY promos right now.

This is copied and pasted from my Promotion Central page:

No new promotions.

Try to call Marriott or better yet, contact their representatives here. AFAIK everyone is supposed to be eligible for a promo from this one, but there seems to be a glitch in loading the offers into some accounts. The phone reps may or may not be up to speed on the existence of this promo.

E-mail them through Marriott.com. They enrolled me in the promo pretty quickly after I e-mailed them.

Thanks, all. The thread in which I originally replied was in a different forum. I hadn't realized the thread was moved to the MR forum.

I have one stay booked prepaid through a travel agent. Does it count as one stay for the promotion? Thank you!

Depends on how the travel agent booked your stay.
Hopefully they did not book through a third party site (which won't count).

For me, my new 'unexpected bonus' is now showing up, but it shows that I am already registered (which I did not register yet).

I will have to call to get it changed (since my summer travels will be a change up from current heavy travel pattern).

No secret, I'm not happy with my offer. But I'm dragging my heels on what to do. My original thought was to ask for Cat 4 certs and use them for a wedding in September. Everyone is staying in a Cat 4 CY. It turns out, there is another event going on in the hotel, so certs/points cannot be used that weekend. In fact, all rooms are pre-paid for the weekend.

So after all my bellyaching, I may stay with the lousy 45k offer! (With all two-night stays at HH properties to take advantage of the additional 2013 DL points.)

Does anybody know the restrictions to the type of reservation/booking?

Do I have to buy it from Marriott.com?
Can I use AAA or other promo codes?
Can I book the cheapest rate on orbitz, travelocity, etc....?

Thanks

booking from 3rd party sites will not count (i.e. orbitz, Travelocity, etc).
Yes you can book directly from Marriott.com.
Yes triple A rates will count, or corporate rates. If you have other rates in mind, you would need to list them.

If you can find cheaper rates elsewhere, you'll come out WAY ahead booking on Marriott.com and filing an LNF claim, because they'll beat the lower price by 25%. Look through the LNF threads here for more details. They're either sticky threads or are usually on the first page.
