Yes, but most airlines will charge you a hefty fee to do so.
Why do you want to transfer them to her? What is the end goal? |
Actually, you can do it without any charge from the airlines. Marriott will allow any two persons to "combine" points for an award (the T&Cs state this is for spouses, but Marriott will actually allow any two individuals.)
So if you want the airline miles to go into your wife's account, just call MR up and ask them to pull the needed points from your account into hers. (Note this will requires you both to fill out and sign a form and then fax it back to Marriott.) If she doesn't have a Marriott account yet, they can create one for her. Then order the award with the points from her account. |
My wife has more miles then I do, and it would make more sense for her to receive the airline miles.
|
Then follow hhoope's instructions, note the Marriott (hotel cert) part of the travel package will also be in her name.

Transfer bonus to AA: 20% including travel packages
Link to page
I recently got enough points for a travel package, so I'll probably be pulling the trigger on this. An extra 24K AA miles is pretty good. |
Thanks for posting. I'm in the same boat with a travel package, and AA seems like the best mileage value this way for business class to Europe, but the availability without paying $1000 in BA charges seems even more difficult than the Star Alliance.
I'm leaning towards Air Canada at the moment, but if I knew I could secure the seats via AA miles, I would definitely come out ahead so it is making me pause a bit and consider whether I can make it work with AA. |
Interesting that United would allow this. Hopefully they have something like this when the AA/US programs fully merge.

I would have thought there might've been some sort of contract between Marriott and United. Yes it's AA's promo but Marriott is part of it...
|
Great timing for me.. Just booked the travel package... Lets see how long it takes for miles and bonus to post in AA account.
|
Just got the same email for US Airways, which make sense.

Does the 10k AA points for 30k Marriot points reflect the 20% bonus or will there be an additional 2k AA points added upon conversion?

That's the base rate, so you should get 12K AA.
