Did I fail to make Plat Premier this year.

After logging into my account in Marriot.com and clicking on the "My Account" link, I saw this:

Checking if similar folks have the same observation.

TIA.

Call Marriott and ask about PP status?

PhillyPhlyer40 Jan 21, 2014 8:35 am

I got the same thing...says "Platinum Elite" has been renewed...not sure if I am dropping down or not?!?!?!

I have never been PP but my account shows as PP but the message does not. Guessing it's just the normal Marriott.com bad code though I'd certainly be happy if I was PP.

I think its just how the code works... mine shows same thing with being PP but the congrats on renewing plat elite status.

Thus showing how much difference there is between Plat & PP ;) :p :D

Cheers.

I have the same message in my account. I'm trying to remember if, in the past, they have held off until February to announce the Platinum Premier extensions. At least that's what I'm hoping!

I see nothing... (Colonel Klink), just points, level (PP) and nights (rollover I assume). Forgotten stepchild.

The blank page defines exactly what benefits PP provides;)

+1

I followed my own advice and called. At first the PP agent, who seemed rather out of it, told me the boilerplate about being individually evaluated, 3%, might take another month, etc. But then he said that his screen showed me as recently requalified for PP. I hope he didn't make this up to end my questions. My account shows the same message about having renewed as Platinum.

So anyone who's worried should call and ask very specifically.

However, IIRC new PPs are determined a bit later into the year, IME sometime in February.

Schuuuuullllltttttzzzzz!

Mine says nothing about renewal/level other than current PLT status.

I find it a bit funny that everyone wonders whether they've got it or not, given there's basically zero to little dif being PP vs. P. Unlike United's UGS status where you do have different bennies, Marriott totally dropped the ball on PP & should be ashamed of itself for continuing to have a category that offers buptkus & even on the website takes you back to regular Plat bennies

Cheers.

No need to apologize. Most of us have been saying for a long time that there is no great material benefit to Plat Premier.

That said, there have been times I see things in the room like a bottle of wine, fruit basket, or even a gift like an intl charger or amenity basket but all these hotels are intl. Not sure if Plats also receive these. Nice touches but not enough IMO to want to make the jump to Premier.

As a Plat, I regularly received both the points and market item when checking into CYs, SHS and FIs. I just checked into an FI as a PP and was only given the points. A Diet Mt. Dew and bottle of water were charged to my room. Not that I expect double dipping on the welcome gift, but I think it has more to do with the property and less to do with P vs PP.

I concur. My experiences were probably just wishful thinking and coincidences.
