Really? I've been staying in this hotel for almost a year now and I've never gotten the Pres suite or free room service.
And I order room service a lot. You said your room rate was the "per diem" rate. Is this the rack rate, which is usually $229/night? If so, you probably paid for that "free" room service since this property has some very highly discounted corporate rates. the "per diem" rate is the government rate that is agreed to by the government and the hotels. In Austin it is $108/night. That is all i paid! I love this hotel. I love to be able to go down to atrium and have a few drinks at the bar, especially when some kind of function is going on. |

DillMan,
At check-in I asked if there was an upgrade available. The attendant said I would get the room I paid for. My comment was that we only stay at Marriotts, not for business, since we're retired, but for the patronage and that gave us platnium status. He said, they don't need platniums for their business." I did call customer service when we came home. |

Omaha FS Marriott
Greeted as "premier" (not PP) and handed a generic room key. Asked if they were out of elite keys, and replied, you're premier, not elite... Didn't get the 500 points, had to call Marriott CS to get. Maybe new FD person |

When will I know if I am PP
Looks like some folks are starting to get there 2012 cards.
I did 153 nights, so wondering if I made the magic PP threshold. Anyone know when they let you know? |

Any idea when accounts are updated? Mine still shows the same statistics as last year.
|
Should be within the next week based upon last year's timing.
|
Just got my Platinum kit in the mail today -- guess I didn't make PP :-/
|
Judyt to give people a data point, when my job ramped up travel, I went from an end of year silver, next year just missed the 75 nights for play, and year three I had 175 ish nights and still did not get PP.
It was the following year where I stayed 150 nights that I got it. Honestly, I'd rather just have regular plat as I'm convinced the PP designation has front desk agents scratching their head about what it is and the benefits for it are essentially nil. Also, my primary hotels are Renaissance and occasional JW or international Courtyard. |
