MegaMiles vs. MegaBonus
So I recently had a long stay at a Residence Inn from Jan 21, 2012 to Feb 15, 2012. I signed up for the MegaBonus offered to me of:
Earn 35,000 points after 20 nights + 15,000 points after 25 nights—up to 50,000 bonus points
Which I thought was awesome because I was planning on spending 25 nights and getting a sweet 50,000 bonus. I didn't realize until last week that the offer only started on Feb 1. So a good number of my nights didn't count. In fact it says I only qualified for 12 nights! Ugh!
Doing some research it sounds like I should have enrolled for MegaMiles instead. Any way to do this retroactively? Is there another promotion that would be more beneficial?
Thanks!

This probably has been answered but I haven't been able to find the answer - for those on the free night certificates MB, when is the expiry date of your certificate? I didn't think I'd have any travel, but might have a weekend away, and would split my stay if it were worth my while...

Sorry if this has been asked before, but searching this thread didn't yield an answer.
If I am staying on a points+cash upgrade award stay, does that qualify as a paid nights toward my 25 night megabonus? The upgrade charge of $100 per night is more than I've paid for several of my other qualifying nights, but technically the base rate is still an award stay, which would be excluded.
Has anyone gotten promo credit on a points+cash stay before?

The MegaMiles is based on stays not nights, so you did the right thing crediting to points for that stay. If you have short stays credit those to mega miles, unless you need them to get the 20 nights. I'm going to be right around 20 for the quarter, but the 2 Cat 4 certs mean more to me and I'd rather get points than miles. My 20 or so nights are spread over 10 stays. I'm crediting the 4 longest to MegaBonus (for the 2 cat 4 certs) and the rest to MegaMiles. Yes, you can switch back and forth, just wait for the previous stay to credit before you switch.

Should you be able to use these free night certificates somehow? I have completed the required 4 stays and promo page says I'm all done but how do I use these free nights? I mean, I can see them on my rewards page and am now trying to book a room using them but can't seem to find the right place to do it. I can only choose money or rewards points.

Sorry if this has been asked, but I've read the t&c and also searched this thread and I was unable to find an answer:
Will the government rate count toward the free night? I have one credited stay already, this booking will be my 2nd night. I just want to make sure if I book under government rate, that it will count.
thanks in advance,
BB

Questions
Hi, will they have summer megabonus? I'm planning for a trip in August, so if I book the rooms now and then, let say, the summer megabonus starts from July to September, will my stay during August (but being booked now) be considered as one stay? Thanks, guys=)
