Points for Corporate Reservations
Hi,
this sure has already been discussed, but I've found nothing when searching.
I'll be staying at the SpringHill Suites Minneapolis Eden Prairie for 3 nights. I will be attending a conference, so my company has made that reservation and so have introduced their discount code, but the reservation has my name on it. One more thing, of course they will pay for the stay.
Do you have any experience with reservations like this? Do you know if I'll get the points for this stay? Shall I call Marriott and ask?
Thanks a lot.

At check in just give them your MR number. Then you will get any points that stay on your folio at checkout.
If the company has arragned a "master bill" and routes your charges to a master folio, you won't get any points as your folio will be left with no activity. If they let you pay it on yuor credit card the charges left on your folio you will get the points.

I think you may not be communicating properly... The company paying the bill can mean you are being reimbursed or using a company paid CC or a master billing (room & tax) has been arranged.
Granted just about anything could end up happening as peoperties do make mistakes, but generally speaking, if you have $0 in charges on your folio, I would expect ten times that to still be zero. Personally, I would hedge the bet and make sure something is charged to the room so some points will post and you might get lucky and get night credit too.

So you say that if I charge something to the room I might get the points for all the stay and the nights as well if they make a mistake? Well, I'll try to do that and then if I have news I'll tell you
Thank you very much

Sorry, what I wanted to say that I was going to ask if it is true or not, is if I'm going to receive points if the company pays the bill.

Having worked Night Audit at the Irvine Marriott, I can assure you that batch information is sent through to Marriott from the PMS itself, and that there is no one, at least at the property level, who sits down each day deciding whether or not to credit points/nights.

- If your company has set up a "master bill" (use that exact phrase when asking), you will not see any charges for the room on your folio and you will not receive points or EQN (elite qualifying nights) credit.
- If you pay for the room charges yourself (whether to a corporate card or your own, which you get reimbursed for by your company), you will get points and credit.

Thank you very muchAre other people from your company staying there as well?
Basically, if you pay for it, you'll get the points.
If you don't pay for it (master bill situation), you won't receive points, but you might receive credit for the nights, especially if you charge something to the room, which is useful for elite status.
Bottom line--give them your MR number at check-in to be sure it's on your reservation. It can't hurt.
When you check out of the hotel, obtain a copy of the folio listing all of the charges. If the points and nights don't automatically credit, you can complete a missing stay request and at least try to have the points credited. It may not work, but you can try.

I think that the company has set up a master bill, as there will be aprox. 200 people from around the world
, however I'll ask at the front desk again. I've managed to get the reservation number and put my MR number on it. Thank you all for your advice
