This thread refers to the various Marriott brands within a specific geographic area. Marriott Bonvoy hotels in XX usually have posts asking which property is better, etc. Trip reports are usually better suited in the property specific threads.
There's a 6% Government Tax and MYR10 Tourism Tax not shown in the rate.

If you are really bothered complain. My buddy has gotten 60k points this year from complaining about kids in the lounges. Some of the lounges at some of the hotels have the rule for no 12 and under allowed. (He got about 10k from one of the Autograph hotels in KL. He told me he just got 20k from a JW somewhere outside KL. Not sure about other hotels)
I see it is a privilege. I get the kids eating free is a good benefit, but these days, especially in Asia the parents just let the kids go nuts.

I think its only when you call corporate but who knows. If I was running a hotel I'd probably keep information on guests complaints. Its also possible that hotels gather information on guests and share it with corporate including complaints and compensation. I wouldn't risk it unless of course I was really annoyed by it.

I've had a very nice stay at the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur. Unfortunately it is spoiled by vile guests who either take video calls on speakerphone or play videos on their phones on loudspeaker. They really are oblivious to how rude they are.

Currently in residence at RC.
Some thought:
+ very nicely refurbished ans spacious room. (Executive deluxe room)
+ beautiful decorated throughout the hotel
+ service is very good all around.
+ very convenient location and also connected to JW and a mall
- breakfast buffet could be improved (GH is far better)
- housekeeping service is a bit disappointed.
- no platinum recognition other than room upgrade and premium internet.
overall, i far prefer GH to this hotel. Nothing bad about RC either.

The pool was a bit small, although I do like the spa area.

JW Marriott KUL - May 2018
Background:
Due to the vile World of Hyatt, I no longer stay at the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur. I have stayed at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur before and whilst it was cheap, I thought I would pay a bit more to get the JW Marriott. I was not disappointed.
Check in:
I checked in at the main lobby. I can't tell whether I was upgraded or not as the rooms look the same. I was invited to have breakfast either at the Club Lounge or the main restaurant.
Room:
Breakfast in main restaurant:
Gym:
Afternoon Tea (day 1 and 2):
Happy Hour (Day 1):
There is a chef station - today's was Peking duck rolls and egg tarts:
Happy Hour (Day 2):
The chef station was serving prawn tikka and carved lamb leg with condiments (e.g. mint yoghurt)
Conclusion:
I was happy with the JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur and found it to be good value with the Club Lounge benefit. The hotel is modern with good gym equipment and a decent Happy Hour and breakfast spread. The staff are so-so.

Ah those pics bring back fond memories. I was just there 3 weeks ago.
While it is an older hotel and not all staff were friendly/professional, it was IMO a bargain as it's a category 3 hotel and I used marriott pts. This was the 4th Marriott I have stayed at in Asia in past 18 months.
For location, I would give it 10/10. It was perfect.
Other than maybe a higher floor, your room looks just like mine and it wasn't an upgrade.
Hotel likes to push "their" taxi or private car service. Especially the taxi, it's a scam.
Use a "hotel" taxi to the airport - 150 ringits. Grab - 85 ringits. Call your own private car - 75 ringits.
Hotel front desk knew I wouldn't go for their scam so she even offered to call me a grab.
