Just received Hilton AX upgrade offer that includes 9X points on Hilton expenses, Priority Club access, etc. Any chance SPG AX can offer something like it?

IMHO, the SPG Amex card already beats this. You get two SPG points for every dollar spent at an SPG property on an SPG Amex (compared to 9 Hhonors points on the Amex Hhonors Surpass card). I personally consider 2 SPG points to be far more valuable than 9 Hhonors points.

Agreed. What about Priority Club access?

SPG Amex does not include Priority Pass membership. More info on benefits of this card is available in this forum and of course at www.americanexpress.com and choosing SPG or SPG Business card to check benefits.

The Platinum (and Centurion) AmEx Airport Club Access Program includes complimentary access to airport lounges for you and two guests with a same-day ticket on AA, CO, and DL.

The Hilton Surpass AmEx includes a Priority Pass standard membership, which allows access to a different set of airport lounges for $27 per person. You can buy the equivalent membership level from Priority Pass for $99 anyway.

The SPG AmEx doesn't have any airport lounge perk, except in the sense that earning Starpoints instead of HHonors points will save you more than $99, which you can use to buy a Priority Pass membership or anything else.

Priority Pass is the airport lounge program. Priority Club is the InterContinental/Holiday Inn frequent guest program.

You missed one. The Centurion gives you free Priority Pass which gets you in free to hundreds of clubs world-wide.

Question re: posting of 15K bonus points

Hi Everyone,

I hit my 15K threshold during my last billing cycle and now am patiently waiting for my bonus points. For those of you who have gotten them recently, did anything regarding the bonus points show up on your paper Amex statement, or did they just post to your SPG account? Just wondering what to look for.... Thanks!

Does Amex still have the promotion of spending 15K get extra 15K pts? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure they do - yup! Still working on my business 15K.

And I'd really like to refer you for either the personal or business card!

I passed my annual renewal in May but have yet to receive a new SPG50 certificate. When do these come or should I call in and ask?

Same thing happened to my Business SPG Amex. I called Amex and they told me they will have to investigate why I have not received my SPG50 certificate upon renewal. Has been over 6 weeks and no response. Your post reminded me that i have to call them :)

Same thing happened to me. I called them twice and they said it will be mailed. Then I never received it. :(

Hi,

Most of my travels are international. I was curious if people charge their international SPG stays with their SPG AMEX. Is the 2.7% foreign transaction fee worth the extra 2 points/$ spent? Or is it better to only use SPG AMEX for domestic stays and use a no foreign transaction fee credit card for their international SPG stays?

Thanks in advance!

IMHO, it's not worth it. I'd rather use my Schwab card and get 2% cash back with no forex fee. Even picking up a straight 1% on a Cap One card is better than paying 2.7% just to get 1 SPG point back.

Bonus point for annual spending?

I did some searching, but I must be using the wrong amounts or something. Anyway, I thought I read on FT that you earn 10k or 15k bonus points for spending $30k or $35k on your card in a calendar year. This is not for new card members, who have a better bonus, but for those of us who have had the card for a while. Is this wishful thinking on my part, or is there some bonus for reaching an annual spending amount?
