Also, even if the card is canceled, it is still possible for a charge to go through. In any case, the OP will be asked for a card at check-in for incidentals, so the room charge would most likely then go on this card!

Fortunately I was able to send $10,000 from my business to increase my credit limit from $1000 to $11,000. Of course you aren't earning any interest on your money, but at least you have a higher credit limit. Then pay off the bill each month and keep the $10k there for your credit limit. Defeats the purpose of a credit line, but also tells AMEX that they aren't going to take away my ability to charge for SPG points.

An AMEX phone agent after a discussion told me that he could give me a $4,000 credit level from my $4,800 existing level on the spot without credit check etc. He also said that if I waited 3 months I could do another $4,000 increase. Starting from a $1,000 base it would be slow to build to $10K but I presume you could do it.

Before I got my limit increased I was paying my bill multiple times a month so that at the end of the month the charges did not exceed my credit limit. During the period you can exceed it, as long as its not by to much....

I seem to remember there used to be a quick way online to check your spend on the card and see how close you are to qualifying for gold. Am I imagining it? If anyone can walk me through it, please let me know.

On every statement it is stated how much you have spent to date and you can see how close to your $30,000 required.

So it is. Thanks much. There used to be a way to see it online too, or maybe there is, but this works easily.

Although I don't really care, you do have my curiosity up, -- you apologized for the caps but didn't fix them?

Multiple SPG AmEx cards from different countries into one SPG account?

Does anyone have experience with this?

I have a US-based SPG account and a UK-based SPG AmEx (which deposits points into my US-based SPG account). I would now like to add on a US-based SPG AmEx for my US expenses. Does anyone know if there is a limit on the number of SPG AmEx cards that can be linked to one account, or if there is any restriction on the countries where the cards are based?

No there is not... I have 2 cards linked to one SPG account right now.

Sent you a PM with referral link.
