At least we now have (after several weeks) the site working again. Might be we're lucky and the transfer tool is fully operational as a Christmas present. Or, Marriott Bonvoy Lurker II?
i wish your ambassador could just do the transfer for us.

Still seeing the error in the online tool "We can’t process your request. Points transfer is temporarily not available. We’re working to resolve this. Please try again."

I'm not thrilled, and P2 will be even less thrilled when I have him call in.

I tried transferring points two separate times 4 days apart and I'm getting the same "Points transfer is temporarily not available" error. Seriously, how incompetent are you, Marriott?

Dear discombobulator,

We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

If you still come across the same issue, you may call customer support for assistance to transfer points and submit the website issue following this help article.

I ran into the same issue a few weeks ago but it was due to having a special character in the recipient's name (which the online form doesn't accept). The workaround is to call in & have the agent submit the points transfer.

No special character in our names. My wife and I have transferred points online in the past.

Just a piece of software that is broken and does not get fixed. Looks like nobody cares.

As you note, this has been an ongoing problem since November 2024.

I had to call the Bonvoy help number in the app yesterday to get them to transfer my points to AAdvantage. The button on the web page where you enter the amount and AAdvantage number would just spin for a second and then nothing would happen.

This is still happening on 16 Feb 2025. Attempted several days on different browsers. Cannot transfer Bonvoy Points to AAdvantage. This is my first time transferring Bonvoy points... I thought it was just me.

I just tried transferring a small amount of points to my wife online. I got the error message after doing the email verification code step (the text message verification step failed with a different error ).

However, when I called in and was talking with the customer support person, I saw that my points balance had changed. I asked my wife to check her account, and it turns out the points were transferred using the online tool despite the error message. So, make sure you double-check before calling in.
