FAQ : online Marriott Bonvoy points transfer errors and problems
I am trying to transfer points online but it throws up an error everytime.
Doesnt mention what the error is. I have not exhausted my transfer limit as well. I tried calling them but they said they cannot do it on call anymore now. My best guess is that you are not typing in the recipient's name exactly how it is recorded on their Bonvoy account.
The Lurkers will not be able to help here. This is only something that can be done over the phone or through the new tool. Additionally, if you do it over the phone, it takes up to 7 days to process. |

Points transfer between members error
Trying to transfer a small number of Bonvoy points to a family member. Both accounts have been around for years with recent activity and the max has not been exceeded this year, yet I keep getting an unexplained error with no further details. I was successful transferring point to that account in the past. Any suggestions?

I was running into the same error message when trying to transfer points and I was told its because you can only share points twice in a month.

yeah, there seem to be additional issues and issues likely caused beyond the posted limits. Let's see if things work again in May.
