Bring back housekeeping.
OK Marriott, I remained loyal when you change the rewards program, when you re-juggle hotels and terms of redemption levels and most of the things
But I’m reaching my limit.
I’m sorry, I’m staying at a hotel that is advertised as full service for $300 a night and you don’t do housekeeping and you don’t even tell me.
you’ve been using this Covid excuse not to do housekeeping now for two years. But you can have your bars open and no social distancing, you can have conventions in your hotels with no social distancing, apparently it’s only housekeeping that is dangerous? really? I stayed at a Tru by Hilton last week and got daily housekeeping. My coworkers are at the Hyatt across the road and they’re getting daily housekeeping.
Oh and at the Sheraton in Phoenix the only way to actually get in touch with guest services is to call them on your cell phone as an external call because if you dial the number on your phone in the room it rings twice and disconnects you. Yes I’m not impressed. Stay someplace else people

In Orlando Housekeeping is still a myth in anything outside the Swan/Dolphin/Swan Reserve. Everything is by request and they don't tell you so they get away with at-least a day or two of not refreshing rooms or no service at all unless you stay 7+ days. It's a joke and the only way to begin to solve this is if it's not mentioned in the "What to expect" when you check-in is to say cancel it/refund and go to a different hotel which is what I did.
Crazy how we went from "we have to service you room every 3 days as safety/wellness check" to "yeah go stay in the room for two weeks who cares just throw your trash out the door"

yep if your going to the extended stay hotel model then your pricing needs to reflect that
if my room isn’t cleaned today I’m checking out. My coworkers at the Hyatt are getting cleaning. And it looks really nice

When the rats show up in the hallway to feast on guests' garbage, snap a photo and send it to the local health department.

If I have to make my own bed, replace my own toiletries, dry/reuse my towels, and scavenge my own food, I'm going to stay at an AirBNB for 1/2 the price. And it's going to be bigger, quieter, and (most likely) newly remodeled.

Housekeeping and room service are not optional at a "full service" hotel.

Yes, particularly irksome if they don't even tell you. I just stayed at the Bidwell in Portland, OR and Aloft at SFO airport. Both properties are housekeeping only on request and they don't tell you. I had to figure it out. I did request and once it was done and another time they never got around to it. Even worse, the Bidwell has a destination charge of $25 per night, presumably because it is such a high-service property.

I have already made my displeasure known to the hotel. I sent a chat message indicating that at a bare minimum this should have been communicated at check in and here's the totally "unimpressive" response I received.
"Thank you for your feedback and I will share your communication with the team. Thanks again"
Do you see what's missing here????? They couldn't even apologize for failure to communicate #NOTIMPRESSED

We apology for the frustration that has resulted from this.
We are pleased to forwarded your feedback to the hotel management team for investigation. It would be appreciated if you can share your full name, stay dates and contact email with us via private message so that the hotel team could review the stay record and response to you for further follow up.
Please feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance.

Carrie, I responded to you in a private message. You don’t need all this information. you know what hotel it is. you don’t need to know who I am and to be honest that’s not the point. I’m sure if you contact them they will want to start cleaning my room every day, but that’s not going to solve the problem when I go to the next hotel is it? That’s not going to solve the problem that when they sent me the message when I asked them why this while I wasn’t informed of this I basically got a you’re being unreasonable response
if you’re reading the other posts on this thread, I’m not the only one unhappy. I’m not the only person who discovers only by accident that housekeeping is optional. It’s not just my hotel and me complaining. Your problem is more fundamental than that. Getting a hotel manager to come up here and apologize to me is not going to solve the underlying problem. you’re charging full service and not delivering and it’s not just one hotel it appears to be systemwide. And we’re going to start voting with our wallets
The Sheraton in downtown Phoenix knows they’re not cleaning the rooms every day, they don’t need my room number name and date of to stay to validate that. And if they’re telling you they are they are being untruthful. . I have talked to several other people at my convention who have the same complaint. Oh and none of the people I talked to were told at check in that house keeping is every few days. It’s pretty evident that they are attempting to avoid giving out this little information in advance.

Perhaps you could address your comments to Marriott corporate management that it needs to enforce basic service standards at supposedly "full service" properties.
