Date 2nd unlock offer received: November 12
Current status and nights YTD: Silver, 15 Nights
The unlock offer received: 6,000 Bonus Point after 3 stays.
* Side notes - points posted to my account on marriott.co.uk (I'm UK based) took a further 'overnight update' to be reflected on the equivalent profile on the marriott.com site.
Objectively it's not a great bonus offer compared to current Hilton, Hyatt and IHG promotions but it'll work for me as the 2 triggering stays were both bargain-bucket 1-nighters earning 800 points or less each (incl. Silver Bonus), and I already have the 3 similar nights provisionally (i.e. refundable) booked for November so the collective 8000 bonus points will effectively bring the points earned for the 5 stays up to 3x the standard rate.
Since I already earned Silver through a Double Elite Nights promotion earlier in the year, and received an unexpected (and for which my Silver status wouldn't usually qualify me) Suite upgrade on my last stay I reckon I've done quite well out of Marriott this year so can't really complain.

Possible to Change Unlock More Promotion?
Is it possible to change the second promotion received? I got the 2000 for 4 stays, 2,000 for each additional 2 stays. This would be rewarding if I had lots of single night stays. Unfortunately until the end of January I have only 5 night stays planned.
I know it used to be possible to have the global promotions that had multiple alternatives to be manually changed. I have not asked for a change since the merger. I asked the question to my Ambassador, but he is completely tone deaf. No matter how carefully I word my question, I almost always get an answer to a question that I did not pose. I do not have the energy to try to go back to him to get the answer to the question I have asked.
Is it possible to get Bonvoy to change the second part of the promotion to an alternative more desirable for the customer?

That's what used to happen with me. Now I get an email saying "thank you submitting all the information, please contact the hotel to credit missing stays/points." Bonvoy is just a centralised rebuttal unit for customer claims.

I don't have an answer to your question, but I got this promo as well. It's pretty disappointing - to the point of being insulting. I'm convinced they looked at all of my stays through January (they're booked already), and said "we know this guy will make these stays (20+ nights on minimal stays), how can we give him the minimal amount of points possible based on these?"

Here's my unlocked offer sent by e-mail and it's contradictory.
The e-mail title and main message says: Your Unlocked Offer: 2K More Points Every Two Stays
But then under the image in the e-mail it says:
Get 2,000 additional bonus points after four more stays.* Then keep earning 2,000 bonus points every two stays through January 14, 2020.
BOOK NOW
Whichever, it is (2k every 2 stays or 4 stays), it's certainly IS going to change my behaviour - I'm going to cancel at least one booking out of the 4 I have left this year. I'm not partaking in these bird crumbs. The other 3 are Best Rate Guarantees, one of them with 5000 points anyway.
What astounds me is that they can't even get an e-mail right!!

To me it seemed like you get 2k for every 2 stays, until you open the e-mail and find out that is only the case after you do 4 stays first. Perhaps misleading rather than contradictory. I'm certainly not taking the bait - 500 Marriott points per stay (or 167 Starpoints in old currency). What's the point?! As I said, I'm going to cancel at least 1 stay because it was just an optional staycation anyway.

Just unlocked my second offer. 15k points after 6 more stays. Note: I already had 2 stays booked in the award window at the time of unlocking ...
