Do you need them to post faster? What would be acceptable to you? It seems to be a YMMV thing property by property which make me think it's a quasi-manual process. Some stays post within a day or 2, some take longer. Unless I'm desperate to use those points I really don't care so long as they post at some point and I don't have to chase a 'missing stay'.

Points posting time
I'm new to the Bonvy program so this is obvious in my account. Recently completed a stay where I had 3 days of foregoing housekeeping for 500 points per day. These posted to my account with 24 hours of check out. 1-2 days later the stay itself posted to my account but not the points. My nights increased accordingly, but the points for the stay have still not hit my account 6 days after checking out. I can see the total points for the stay in the activity line item (about 1800), but they have not actually posted to the total points balance. Is this normal?

While waiting for the standard cooling off period to be over to submit a formal claim, you can reach out to the hotel directly via email and ask them to check if they did everything on their side properly. Also make sure you have a final invoice for the stay, you will not be able to submit a claim without that.

In your account - in your "activity" what shows up? This is the listing of all earned points for your account - hotel stays, uber rides, credit card awards, etc. For this specific stay, if i'm following correctly, you see the hotel stay / folio posted, 1500 points for housekeeping, but zero base points? Is that correct? Or do you mean there is a discrepancy between what is showing you earned (and is correct) vs. what is shown on your total points balance?
- Bonus (foregoing housekeeping) - 1,500 points earned
- 5 night stay - 1,740 points earned
My total points though shows only, 1,500 and my nights as 5. My expectation is that my total points would show as 3,240 (1,500+1,740)
Since both bonus points and nights posted quickly, I assumed the stay points would too. I do have a final bill and it says it may take up to 7 days. That's today. No big deal, but being new to the program and likely to stay at this property a few more times this year, just thought I'd keep an eye on things and check in with those here who are more experienced.

Because I'm new to Bonvoy, it's easy for me to see this. I have two activity line items:
- Bonus (foregoing housekeeping) - 1,500 points earned
- 5 night stay - 1,740 points earned
My total points though shows only, 1,500 and my nights as 5. My expectation is that my total points would show as 3,240 (1,500+1,740)

Hi theshaun,
If you'd like us to look into this for you, please feel free to send a Private Message with your full name, email address, and the dates and location of the stay.
Thanks!

[Skip this reply if you don't like long stories; this is your forewarning!
]
We call this BonVoy Math. I am not new to Marriott at all, but last year made Titanium, and I am stunned at the ineptitude of the calculations (if that's what we call it) of the internal systems. I can't say what every hotel is using, but at one hotel in a major metro area I joked (in the middle of a 4 month stay when I saw the screen), "wow, that reminds me of DOS." The reply? "It is DOS."
[mic drop]
I just left a hotel where I stayed 32 nights. In that state, 31 is tax-exempt, and I happened to need 32. Clearly that mattered. The hotel was exceptional. One of my best experiences yet. However, I noticed not long after checking in, my check in date had moved two days later. I went down to the front desk. The short version is, the hotel still had me checking in the date I actually checked in. My receipts I was asking for copies of each week since I don't trust BonVoy Math also had the same information. But my app said I was staying 30 nights.
A week prior to check out I emailed Marriott and explained the situation, and I added they should NOT send it back to the hotel because the problem was not with the hotel, that the hotel was excellent and Marriott should be proud to have such a hotel in its portfolio (side eye to big corporate...). I sent in screen shots showing the difference, and explaining I needed the accounting to show up right for myriad reasons, including in my app for purposes of accounting. I also added that in my last extended stay at a different hotel, the date changes were also randomly occurring, and the hotel was not doing it then either, so it was clearly something on the back end. The reply I received was awful.
The exact reply (only identifying info edited):
You might note I wrote after explaining I had talked with the hotel, and that the tax part" was only part of it. As a matter of fact, the missing nights propelled me to Gold on my way back up the elite chain... which may not matter, but it shows the difference even two nights can make. But Mike B. didn't leave it at that; he still sent the hotel manager an email despite my email. So then I had to explain to her I was not complaining--I hope she knew that but I wanted to be sure. She was amazing. I thanked her again for running such a wonderful hotel.
A few days after checkout, the stay posted, but it was--wait for it--missing two days and two days or revenue. I had my receipt with me, and I did not wait 10 days. And they didn't make me. I am out of the country or I would have also called and read them a scolding. In my comments with the missing points/nights request I added that I tried to explain this already and was told to pound sand.
It was promptly and professionally corrected, quite quickly actually, but I remain disgusted by how it was handled. I have an upcoming conference in London, paid for by my employer, and booked a Marriott, which I have rethought as a result of the way this was handled. I will absolutely stay with hotels in the States if the price (and people, such as the last one) are right. But the amount of time I spent due to an idiotic computer system, which I attempted to proactively address when I saw it coming, is not worth dealing with again--especially when the reason for these errors has not been identified.

I can assure you our system wouldn't just change the date by itself. Changes to any reservation can only be done by the guest, an agent via phone, or the hotel. I'm not sure how it went from the XXth to XXth, but the length and tax part would be based on the bill of what the hotel has in their records for you. Make sure to verify they have you down for April XXth check-in.

I reached out to Bonvy via the missing stay form. No surprise, first response, canned message, said that the stay had posted. Kinda true, the nights are there and the line item is in the activity. I replied, explaining the situation again.
Reply #2 - Same message as the first reply but this time saying that I earned 1740 points. Starting to get funny, because if they bother to look at my actual points balance, they would see that it's less than what was supposed to be credited. I replied again...
Reply #3 from Bonvy: This one is great! I was told to switch browsers or clear my cache! I've been using the app the whole time but hey, maybe I should log in online and check... nope still 1500 points. I replies, but have yet to get a further response.
I'll continue to play tag a bit longer before reaching out to Marriott Bonvoy Lurker .
Part of this is just seeing how well (or not) Bonvoy service is if I'm going to be visiting my office on the regular and where I decide to park my loyalty. I have at minimum 25 more nights to book at this locale this year. Next trip will be in a month, and I'll be deciding between this property or the nearby Fairmont.

So, while I'm "new" to the program, I've had an account for many years. At some point when setting up the account (maybe Sheraton program back then??) I must have decided that since I'm not going to be staying at these properties often, I should have points credit to my American Airlines AAdvantage account. Of course that election was still set up in my account. Eventually the final reply from Bonvy alerted me to this. Having no recent need to check my AA account, I hadn't noticed, but there they are. Mystery solved. Now I need to decide what's more valuable to me. AA miles and LPs, or Bonvy points....

Same here. Ive had to submit a request over half the time now and its getting really old. If it doesnt post in 3-4 days it wont. I give it a week before submitting a request now. Crappy thing is we have a stay 2 days before we leave for Asia which will put me at titanium. Odds are it wont credit in time to matter. Ill probably have to have a mattress run earlier to make sure theres no issues.
