Clarification from Starwood Lurker in post 125:
- In regards to the part of the offer where you can earn 1,000 points for trying a new brand…There is no minimum length of stay, but you only earn it starting with the second brand. So if you only stay at one brand during the promo period, you will not earn this bonus. But if you stay at 2 or more brands, you will earn 1,000 points for each of those brands after the first one even if the stay is only one night.
- You earn on every stay of 2+ nights, so it isn’t about accumulating nights. If you have two stays of 1 night each, you will not earn a bonus. If you have two accounts, you may register for MegaBonus with either or both accounts. You will only be able to earn with one account at a time because you will earn the bonus points in whichever account the stay was booked with. Example: If you have two accounts that are not combined: If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number and stay with your SPG number, you will earn the bonus points in your SPG account. If you register for MegaBonus with your SPG number but book your stay with your MR number, you will not earn bonus points.

This promotion is a total mess! Think I'm missing the 10,000 bonus points for doing more than 10 brands, and the individual brand bonuses, but the 2-night bonuses were added at the date of transaction. Looks like others are in the same position, if I have understood correctly?
I can't face calling Marriott as the service center is so incompetent...

It seems to me that you had 9 stays of 2+ nights.

See post # 573. It means you had 13 stays of 2+ nights, so you earned 26K points (which have already been deposited into your account 2000 pts at a time). It has nothing to do with the brand bonus which will post separately (and has not posted yet).

The incompetence was in designing a promotion this complex, at the time of the merger, since the brands may be scattered between three programs that aren't merging until this week (and whose reservation systems didn't merge until midway through this promotion
).

If I were a conspiratorial type, I would say that (especially given the new changes to Points Advance) Marriott is waiting until March 6 to award the remaining bonus points so that they can't be used toward the current favorable award chart.
More likely it's just incompetence, but if it was going to be this hard to award the points for the bonus they created, why didn't they just make the bonus points earned based on some other metric?

I emailed Marriott about not receiving 7000 points from this promo. 3 4 night stays and 2 brands.
they wrote back and said to call.
i call tonight and rep says she has to check with supervisor. Tells me I didn’t have any promotion despite me registering and the offer showing on my app under registered promos up until the day after I emailed. Said she will submit a complaint for it.
How dumb can a company be I stayed 14 nights with Marriott in Jan. And literally living in hotels 5 nights a week for next year. Why wouldn’t you just give the damn 7000 lousy points. I’m sure I’ll get a boiler plate response telling me I’m SOL.
This program is a joke. I’m signed up for the plat challenge as well and will hit it next week if I don’t cancel my reservation. I’ve been at Hilton the last 3 weeks and points post automatically every time. Never thought I’d see the day where I chose HHonors over Marriott rewards.
