SPG VIP Preffered

Information about the Starwood VIP program is not officially published information. Therefore discussing it on a public forum is not appropiate. If you would like to find out information about the program you should contact Starwood directly so they can decide what they would or would not like to disclose about the program. They can be reached at (914) 640-8100 during normal business hours eastern time. I will not publish the platinum desk number, but if you happen to have it the reps there may be able to legitimately answer your questions.

Funniest thing I've read yet this morning!! Well done, Ken! (Note also that despite the poster's 'unwillingness' to publish the elite number - It can be found on Starwood's website )

Even tho I suspect this poster is simply a "troll" and will not come back to read your comment.....I thought it was great!!
Best wishes, Dave

Starwood's decision not to publish information has no bearing on what I may or may not discuss.

For example, Starwood does not publish what a horrible property the Westin Rio is, but I talk about that fact all the time.

Oh, how I love it! A company doesn't publish information, therefore we should not discuss it? Yeah right. I have news for you, there is a lot of information that ALL companies (not only Starwood) do not publish. Things like their sanitary scores on the health inspector reviews, the true amount of executive compensation, the last time a hotel was renovated, whether their customer service is outsourced to India (or elsewhere)....the list goes on and on. Bringing things like this into public view and allowing people to make their own decisions about whether something is important to them and whether it will impact their purchase decisions is perhaps one of the greatest things about the Internet. Discussion of these "hidden" items should be encouraged, not squelched.

With regard to Starwood's 7 levels, it only re-enforces how useless Gold status really is.

BTW, my Starwood card says "VIP Executive Emperor Super-Double-Secret Bad-... Upgrade This Guy To The Presidential Suite Even When He's On Priceline Rates".

But it's not published, so I really wish you guys would all stop talking about it.

It's easy...they will status-match Marriott Ubertitanium Meet This Guy At The Airport With A Limo Status.

But Marriott doesn't publish that level either, so we really shouldn't be talking about it in a public forum.

Thank you.

I've said it before. I'll say it again. I am not the only person at Starwood that reads these message boards.

Sincerely,

Corporate Programs

From what I can tell *wood has 3 different programs for companies:

Anyone know the quick and dirty difference between them? I can only find a link for the first one.
