But it's worth it!

Regardless, I called the SPG Gold number, instead of the 866-number on that SPG-AAA link -- that number simply sends you to AAA reservations, who know nothing about this. The very helpful Candice at Gold had no problem at all adding AAA as the external mktng partner and the A1K promo is the code she used to do it.
So, that's the trick... call SPG and use that terminology and the doors open! ^

Thank you
If you have not signed up for the AAA bonus promo, here's the link. No reason to miss out on bonus points, eh? http://www.starwood.com/promotions/...ml?category=AAA

Starwood Corporate Pref
Hi everyone;
I have just recieved my Corporate Preferred Guest package. It says I can get Automatic upgrades to a Preferred Room at check-in. Is this the same as a club room with comp breakfest?
Thanks.

Officially, there is no free breakfast at SPG - even for Platinums.
At properties with a club lounge that do serve breakfast (not all), the breakfast is a benefit of being upgraded. Whether you get upgraded to the club floor or not depends on the property; they don't have to (but most do try).

A preferred room may mean a better view, a higher floor, or generally just not the worst room at the hotel. And even that is 'subject to availability'. Club rooms are often considered to be in a higher category from 'preferred' and thus Gold and 'Corporate Preferred' members are not entitled to them. However this varies by property.

Normal Room over Club Room
Thanks for the replies
I have the following rates for the Sheraton LAX
Normal Room 85.00
Club Room 110.00
Do you guys think the club room is worth the extra money?

If there is alcohol and that interests you, seems like you can have about three drinks to make up the difference, or evening snacks, or morning breakfast.

How is the Corporate Preferred compared to other level?
I have been at Preferred + level. I just received the Corporate Preferred package. Is this an upgrade from my original level?
There doesn't seem to be any differences except for the "Preferred Room Upgrade."
