Choptliva! I had seen that long thread in past, and that A1K code, but 3 posts following it w/ an FT'er & William appeared to say that the promo for A1K had ended.
Regardless, I called the SPG Gold number, instead of the 866-number on that SPG-AAA link -- that number simply sends you to AAA reservations, who know nothing about this. The very helpful Candice at Gold had no problem at all adding AAA as the external mktng partner and the A1K promo is the code she used to do it.
So, that's the trick... call SPG and use that terminology and the doors open! ^
