This is an all suite property. There are about 85 units total including suites, villa and private residence. New villas are planned.
There is no resort fee, no parking or valet fees, and buffet breakfast is included daily regardless of your status with Marriott.
There is no exec lounge for elites.
The resort is located about 8 minute drive North of the town of Elounda. The small town of Plaka is 3-4 minute drive to the North.
The ferry to Spinalonga Island is 10 euro the round trip. The admission to the island is another 8 euro per person.
Haute Living lounge is only available for those who have paid for Villas.

Titanium benefits are generous (as at August 2020):
  • Complimentary Breakfast in our Restaurant (Tholos) throughout your stay (When booking on redemption stay)
  • One Complimentary Dinner in our Restaurant (Blend or their choice on check-in), drinks excluded
  • Spa thermae Facilities (per Adult, per stay - was a 20 minute back massage)
  • VIP Check-in over a signature aperitif overlooking the famous UNESCO protected islet of Spinalonga
  • 1000 bonus points (in addition to any normal bonus), posts about 5-7 days later
Then the usual: Complimentary Upgrade (upon availability); Late Check-Out (upon request, upon availability).

Solved the mystery of cold family pool.

today I noticed that the family pool was very comfortable. While I was swimming, I noticed warm water coming out of the vents from bottom of the pool which I didn’t notice the other times. Today is Sunday and there are more families by the pool so they maybe turning on the heater during the weekend.

So it seems the sun alone can’t get the pool warm even in the middle of sunny summer day.

Just returned a rental car at the HER airport. They charged me 50 euros for a 3 inch scratch on bottom lip of car in front of rear wheel on a 2008 car. I wiped it away with water and they still wouldn’t budge. Thank goodness for chase saph rental coverage.

I had plenty of pictures from the car but none from bottom angle.

so take plenty of pics from all around and from knee level.

Not the most pleasant way to have people leave.

Who did you rent it from? Although it is too late now, in Crete there are several great all-inclusive family run car rental companies that include insurance in their competitive pricing. It is sort of known " fact" by those that rent often in Greece NOT to use the big corporate companies. (Avis, Hertz, etc)

TheBest and Swift come to mind..... we have rented several times from both and have had new cars, delivered to where we want them and no hassle on return.

Received a buffet dinner for entire family voucher, a spa experience voucher for each adult, a spa gift card (to add on 15mins to a paid treatment). Daily buffet breakfast for everyone is standard.

We had a plate of sandwiches for each person, plus shared plates of fruits and desserts, and a bottle of wine and water on arrival. On the second day we got a small cake and full size bottle of Prosecco to share. Still quite a few more days to go, so curious if more goodies to come.

People are very friendly.

Definitely would consider a return trip in the future given this extremely positive first impression...
Our situation was similar. They were sold out every single night but one of the nights. However, they did end up eventually upgrading us to the two-bedroom villa. Not sure how they did it or who they had to move around but I do agree that the staff are very friendly and the setting for this hotel is epic. They really are committed to ensuring that the guests are happy.

Also, they gave us access to the Haute Living Room and breakfast in Blends the entire stay, which is only supposed to be for villa guests.

Now we all learnt something.
Was merely stating facts. They did end up upgrading us to the two bedroom villa after all and it's a million times better than the regular suites. Regular suites were built in 2008, villas in 2014. Plus the construction standard of the villas is incredibly high. They also gave us 280 euros per day dining credit and access to Haute Living Room and Blends buffet. If anyone is heading there, Blends is a must-visit. Food and service are incredible.

In my experience only part of your statement is correct. The Haute Living is only available to villa guests BUT breakfast at Blend is available to everyone that wants to eat there. Not sure why you would think the breakfast is exclusive to villa guests at Blend since it's essentially the same offering (maybe even a bit less) than what is offered at the main restaurant. We ate at Blend every morning of our stay in 2018 and in June of this year just because as a couple without kids we prefer the somewhat quieter atmosphere. Yes...there are kids but typically not as many as at the main restaurant.

Rented from MotorClub. Little do they realize how close they were to getting a 5 star glowing review until the end. After a disaster experience of trying to rent a car in Punta Cana earlier in the month, MotorClub rental went as smooth as any rental in the USA. No attempt to change car or add anything. But I picked up the car in their city office and returned to their airport location. Had it not been for the way it ended, they were really great.

Now I realize to take pictures of the car from every angle as possible.

I hope the 50 euro was worth the negative reviews they will get from me.

Even with the 50 euros, I only ended up paying 250 euros for 8 days and drop off to airport for an automatic compact car.

Never heard of that company......
Next time, if there is a next time, use Swift or TheBest car rental. They will bring and pickup the car to your hotel or airport and when you return it.... you basically walk away since insurance is included.

We currently stay at the "Domes of Elounda". It is a superb resort. I'll write review when we get back.

We used Kafetzakis Car Rental. The price is good and Manos met us at the HER port. The car is great so far.
https://www.kafetzakis.gr/

If the website does not work, send them an email or call them.

Our suite is a Family Suite for 3 adults and 1 child with one king and two sofa beds, outdoor (heated" jacuzzi), balcony and sea view. This is exactly the suite I booked more than one year ago before the Aug-2018 Marriott/SPG merge.

The suite looks and feels superb. I do not understand the huge negativity we'll seen about one month ago. I do not see any of that. No needs to get a "villa".

Domes of Elounda Autograph Collection

Domes of Elounda All Suites and Villas Spa Resort

Elounda Elounda Agios Nikolaos, Greece GR 72053

Domes of Elounda Autograph Collection (40 Photos)

Domes of Elounda All Suites and Villas Spa Resort

Domes of Elounda is the last stop of our extended trip to Greece.  I booked this resort prior to the 8/18/2018 Marriott/SPG/RC merger.  The old rate was Category 9 with 45,000 points.

The current rate is the new category 8 with 85,000 points each night.

This resort is located near the town of Elounda, Crete.  It is a busy tourist town.

The resort is all suites, from one bed room suite to 2 bedroom family suites.  There are also some villa and residence.

The owner plans to build another section of villas.

Check In

We rented a car from Heraklin and drove to the resort in the evening.  I already told the hotel to check in late.  After we arrived, the valet took over the car and luggages and we were escorted to the receiption area.  The concierge led us to the bar area and there was live piano playing.

We were offered cold towel and cold drink.  The concierge went through all the paperwork and introduced all the activities for that week.

At the end of the reception, the concierge took us to the room in the club car.

Room

I booked a family suite for 3 adults and 1 child, balcony, outdoor jacuzzi and sea view.  This is eactly the suite we received.  The suite is even better than we anticipated.  There was a king size bed in the bedroom and two sleeper sofa in the living room.

The sea view from the room is fantastic.  We can see the Spinalonga Island right from our balcony.

For the last two nights of our stay, we were offered to move to a two bedroom villa.  But we kindly declined.  The view of our suite is probably one of the best.  The villas are located in the back of the resort.  I do not think the villa would have better view than our suite.  Just no need.

Service

The service was superb.  Most of the staff remember my name, from the general manager George, reservation manager Mike to concierge and front desk staff.  They always call me by my name.

All the valet, service and cleaning staff were very couteous and were willing to help.  Never any service related issues.  We only called to ask for the water that was not delivered on time.

There is a water sport place near the resort beach.  The prices were very reaonsable.  We rented a motor boat for the family and we drove the boat around the Spinalonga Island.  It was a lot of fun.

Dining

The buffet breakfast is included.  The food and service were very good and we did not have any complaints.

Beach

One of the best part of the hotel is its beach.  It is not the typical "beach" you can find in Cancun.  But much better than the typical "Crete beach".  The beach is very clean and the water is very clear.

Pool

The resort has two pools, one for adults and one for family with kids.  Most of the families use the beach and not a lot of people used the pools.

Location

This resort is located just North of the town of Elounda.  It is about 8 minutes drive.  The small town of Plaka (yes Plake) is close, but only several nice restaurants and small shops.

For people without cars, they would feel isolated since it requires efforts to go to any town or to explore.  Fortunately that we rented a card during our entire stay at the Domes.

We tasted several restaurants in both Plaka and Elounda.  We also drove to the East shore of Crete (Itanos) and the South shore of Crete (Ierapetra).  Car is necessary if you plan to stay there long.

Overall

Over our entire stay at the Domes, we were never bored.  We could certainly use several more days to explore the large Crete island.  All the local seafood is so tasty.  We love the snail, grilled sardines, grilled octopus and Greek sea bass and sea bream.  The food in the South (Ierapetra) is much cheaper, fresh and tasty.

We really enjoyed our stay there.  This is one of our nicest resort experience.  Even in peak season the resort fully occupied, it did not feel crowded at all.  The staff was very nice.  Food was great.  And there is so much to do in Crete.

We were offered the two bedroom villa for the last two nights. I visited the room when it was being cleaned. But we chose not to move. It is not worth the effort to move. I would not say the construction standard of the villa is incredibly much higher. The view from out suite is much better.

We ate at Blend, not hugely impressed. We could not eat the hotel food all day for several days. The local Greek food in Elounda is much better. The food in the South shore Lerapetra is even better.
