This is an all suite property. There are about 85 units total including suites, villa and private residence. New villas are planned.
There is no resort fee, no parking or valet fees, and buffet breakfast is included daily regardless of your status with Marriott.
There is no exec lounge for elites.
The resort is located about 8 minute drive North of the town of Elounda. The small town of Plaka is 3-4 minute drive to the North.
The ferry to Spinalonga Island is 10 euro the round trip. The admission to the island is another 8 euro per person.
Haute Living lounge is only available for those who have paid for Villas.
Titanium benefits are generous (as at August 2020):

If you are on facebook, there is a FB group called "Cretan Advisors." The person who started this group has a home in Aghios Nikolaos and knows the area better than anyone I have found. She often suggests restaurants in Elounda and Aghios and it would be worth joining just to read her suggestions. There are lots of Crete oriented FB pages, but hers, while small , is the best. I also know she is a admin person on Trip Advisor's Crete forum and you could get good suggestions there as well. You'll get her attention by posting this question on the TA forum.

Plaka is an easy drive or even walk from the Domes resort. We also had dinner one night in the town south of the resort (I think it's Elounda), but it was a bit longer drive and more difficult to find parking in the evening.

Does anyone have a review / photos of the garden view suite? I have a booking already for the seaview in August but can "downgrade" to the garden view - so wondering if that would be worth the slight savings - as I have been in a sea view suite a few years back.

Just finished a 5 night cash stay in a family suite. No upgrade at check-in but the resort was busy The room was ocean view with a huge picture window in the living room with clear views of Spinalonga.
I am not sure which rooms they classify as garden view, but I would assume on the west side of the resort which are mountain facing and probably a great sunset.
One thing I did not know after reading this thread was how vertical the resort is. I think the majority of people use golf carts to get escorted around the resort.
The beach was very well kept with lots of natural shade. Great views.
The family pool big and was never overcrowed. It does close surprising early (6pm).
Breakfast Buffet was fairly extensive and made to order eggs available. Coffee barista service. Mimosa and Bloody Mary’s.
The lounge has a good assortment of hot/cold food, and beverages (incl wine/beer). Conveniently located next to the family pool.
Found that a rental car was most comfortable to get around close by towns Plaka/Elounda. Sidewalks are not continuous and poorly lit at night coming to/from resort
Staff was professional and very friendly with kids.

Looking for a place w/ a 2-bedroom suite for 4 adults and a toddler (one bedroom would be me + wife, other would be my mom + sister in 2 twin beds, and ideally the crib would be in the living room or something).
This property seems like a good fit. I booked a "Family, 2 Bedroom Suite, Bedroom 1: 1 King, Bedroom 2: 2 Twins, Sofa bed, Sea view, Balcony" -- via Amex FHR because it was the same rate as the "flexible" rate on Marriott.com but didn't require prepayment like the Marriott.com rate did -- plus the FHR gets the $100 credit.
Any reason to consider paying extra for the "core" residence (+145/night), the "luxury" residence (+214/night), or the villa (+557/night)? Will be Ambassador but will be going in July which I assume means it will be fully booked.
Is there another Marriott or Hyatt-affiliated property that folks would recommend instead? Budget ~1000-1400 euro/night for 3 nights.

While I really loved the hotel, the room (family, 2 bed room suite), was too small for me / my wife and our 2 children.(they were 8/11 back then), the "living" room turns into a bedroom with the sofa bed but that fills up the room completely

if you are looking at this room (that's what I had):
https://domesresorts.com/domesofelou...dation-family/
(Family Suite with outdoor jacuzzi)
then you direclty enter the living room (there is no hallway), the sofa will sort of change into a twin. We stored our luggage there, but there is no way of really getting them out of sight.
And from the living room you get into the bedroom. Both the bedroom / living room have a door to the bathroom. There was no separate toilet....
When I was there they showed me this room as well:
Luxury 2 Bedroom Residence Sea View
this room is way better!!! I would highly recommend this room, it has 2 bedrooms, a living oom and a private pool.

The 1br suite would definitely not work but this looks great. Thanks for the links to the floor plans too, really wish Marriott would have a policy to make those available for all rooms on its own website, so helpful.

I am so glad I asked -- yes, this is the room I have booked! I didn't realize there was a whirlpool on the balcony but sure enough, it's there in the pictures now that the reservation shows up in my Bonvoy app.
